This honestly deserves a dedicated “rebuild thread” if you have time, you should totally make one! Might be a helpful comparison to have for others in the future.
It was amazing how that ski moved down the coast a mile and was still bobbing. He was determined to get it back and going though.I'll never forget Daytona 17, I think his name was jed or Jeb, lost is (ironically) eme 1200 in the surf on Thursday. Washed up Friday morning few miles up the beach. Saw him strip everything down that day to have it all back together and ripping Saturday. The copper terminals on the battery and solenoid were corroded away. Even the msd total loss survived a night under the ocean haha.
yeah i spoke to him a few times, seen him at a few freerides, always a super nice guy. I heard he passed 2 years after that daytona. it was a pretty freak accident too if i remember correctly. It was amazing how that ski moved down the coast a mile and was still bobbing. Jed Copham. He unfortunately died 2 years ago in a swimming accident in Florida. That dude was awesome. Owner of Brainerd International Speedway. He could do all of the old school jet ski tricks on his Superjet and big backflips on his 1400 DVX. He had this amazing pontoon that had a few jet ski carriers on it and was quite the spectacle. He's got a bunch of videos on Youtube about his lifestyle, cars, houses, bunch of stuff. He was pretty much living the dream. RIP
I’ll have a thread going but it’ll be with the parts from this and another hullThis honestly deserves a dedicated “rebuild thread” if you have time, you should totally make one! Might be a helpful comparison to have for others in the future.
Cyls coming off nextEh, rub a little polish on it and it should be ok......... Get picture of the bore?
Come on Kahuna!!! I might sound that stupid but there’s a little finesse up in this noggin.. it’s already looseYou got to get the coupler off first. Best to reassemble motor and cylinder with 1 piston or put flywheel back on and use a flywheel lock (cold fusion makes one)
Older dasa 1200s used a metal/rubber front seal. You need to get a whole new one. They do not come apart I think.Come on Kahuna!!! I might sound that stupid but there’s a little finesse up in this noggin.. it’s already loose
Now.. stop holding back your info on getting the seal out of this metal discus!!!!!!
That’s what I needed to hearOlder dasa 1200s used a metal/rubber front seal. You need to get a whole new one. They do not come apart I think.
