How deep do skis sink?

I'll never forget Daytona 17, I think his name was jed or Jeb, lost is (ironically) eme 1200 in the surf on Thursday. Washed up Friday morning few miles up the beach. Saw him strip everything down that day to have it all back together and ripping Saturday. The copper terminals on the battery and solenoid were corroded away. Even the msd total loss survived a night under the ocean haha.
It was amazing how that ski moved down the coast a mile and was still bobbing. He was determined to get it back and going though.

Jed Copham. He unfortunately died 2 years ago in a swimming accident in Florida. That dude was awesome. Owner of Brainerd International Speedway. He could do all of the old school jet ski tricks on his Superjet and big backflips on his 1400 DVX. He had this amazing pontoon that had a few jet ski carriers on it and was quite the spectacle. He's got a bunch of videos on Youtube about his lifestyle, cars, houses, bunch of stuff. He was pretty much living the dream. RIP

This honestly deserves a dedicated “rebuild thread” if you have time, you should totally make one! Might be a helpful comparison to have for others in the future.
I’ll have a thread going but it’ll be with the parts from this and another hull
I’m going to do a general walk around of the ski as it sits then I’ll tape my phone to a 2x4 over my work bench to record the tear down :)

Bearings spin pretty nice and cyls look alright, I’m going to have the crank torn down regardless to be inspected.
Cyls I’ll take to the machine shop to make sure they’re GTG.
I got a ton of videos of it being torn down I’ll have to upload

Anyone know how to get this crank seal out of this ?? Never seen anything like this before
I’m assuming it just presses outF772C47E-1BCE-469C-8939-FF60E3C58CF0.jpegEAA9B173-2F73-400C-9187-95AAA5F1917B.jpegC4267F99-847F-4EF9-A1A8-0944BDD4B5A5.jpeg

You got to get the coupler off first. Best to reassemble motor and cylinder with 1 piston or put flywheel back on and use a flywheel lock (cold fusion makes one)
Come on Kahuna!!! I might sound that stupid but there’s a little finesse up in this noggin.. it’s already loose :)
Now.. stop holding back your info on getting the seal out of this metal discus!!!!!!

Anyone know what’ll shine this billet up the best?

don't resurface. try simichrome but it may give it a polished look which billet doesn't have.
those parts may be tumbled finished. ask dasa.
