yeah i realize that steveUK but i still think that if i made the order thru atp i would still see it within a months time. not 6. shipping sucks. returning stuff is even worse. It is good to see that ATP is looking after their customers, i think i would have just sent Jared a new epic to get him out on the water while waiting for his broken one to return. but sounds like there may have been a 3rd wheel in the deal.

when i place my orders with atp i receive them within 4-5 days

the way it works when your a dealer with ATP is that you become the first point of contact

so if theres a problem you go back to who you purchased if from not directly with ATP as they would have no idea if you bought it used etc etc

now on my 10th season of riding and have learned to buy all new modification parts early in the winter to get them in time for spring. i think that a returned part should get priority. the customer just paid and did the waiting inline for the motor, or hull or part and payed to ship it. now if there is a problem, step up and get that customer his replacement before anyone else gets anything. thats what we do at work, if i build something and it is not going to work, i go there asap and make it work.

like the $10 000 driveway i poured and stamped in colored concrete then sealed, and the customer put salt all over it through out the winter and ruined it. or the front porch we poured and the neighbors dog ran thru it after we left. sometimes you gotta suck it up and eat it. :):):):) happens but it is all about how you fix the problem even if it isn't your fault.

Wax know timing and ignitions, i would take his word.

The parcel was collected on the 10th of December 2010
6th Jan 2011 new paperwork generated as UPS would not ship without new paperwork, agent who collected parcel did not perform his job correctly meaning when it arrived at UPS it was actually untraceable apart from the person who took charge of the box upon arrival knowing where it had come from, if it had not been for this particular guy the parcel would have been lost. Through this whole process we jumped through hoops with UPS to get this sorted.
Parcel left Australia 10th of January 2011.
Parcel arrived with us 14 th January 2011.
Parcel shipped back out to Australia 2nd of February.

This was given priority once the parcel was with us.

Chris it seems like you guys at atp did everything in your power to make it right and fast. Don't take my ranting as a hit against just you guys, its about every business out there. I know it is also impossible to make every customer happy. Glad to hear from you and that you do what you can. keep it up. As the customers we have to demand better from our suppliers or else we will get shafted.

why didnt wax use his own cdi he made? kinda weird that he would buy another cdi after he made one, guess he missed something?

Its not a matter of why, but rather that he did, and it failed. So it appears that Wax and ATP have done what they could to fix it, and its the shipping company that is screwing them. That fact should be made known about the returning of this product. It will be warrantied but shipping it back is going to take 2 months. With that info now presented to potential buyers they can't really bitch about anything because they should know this going into the sale. as for me i would deal with steveuk and get him to do returns.

hey Gil, welcome home, its the usual suspects here. lol. i sent back a msd brain and got a new one back very quickly. the thing to remember if you got your paperwork to return an msd is to connect all the wires on the brain together and pplug it into the wall outlet. make sure there is no way that sucker is ever going to test fine.

so is this epic brain fixed? or replaced with a new unit?

that right there makes me want to sell something to you...

Manufacturers do screw up, but certainly not in this case. Unfortunately many consumers try to take advantage of return policies too. Which can have a negative effect on turn around times and how willing a manufacturer may be willing to help ALL consumers.

Kudos to ATP and QJS for addressing everything as they have....

seriously though, when you have done the troubleshooting on a msd TL and it becomes an intermediate problem like the enhancers can do, and then you call msd and get the RAF # or whatever it is. then package it up and send it away with the copy of reciept. do you really want them to say yeah it worked fine or have them say it is toast here is a new one. don't sell me anything, see if i care. lol. i was joking about sticking the wires in the outlet but if you can't figure that out, mabe you should.

for the amount of enhancers and brains we have tossed out, i think msd should send you a new unit at cost+shipping if you send them an old failed unit outside warranty.

If you send the unit deliberately damaged to MSD could they then say you did not run a fuse and caused the unit to fail and at that point refuse warranty all together. It would have to be your word against theirs and complaining louder only makes them not want to help you at all.

My name is bound to be mentioned sooner or later, so, I'm the Australian ATP dealer.

The ignition came back to me, and was sent off from here.

Jared will have his ignition back tomorrow.

I'm not going to get into a slanging match here, but I will say that if UPS in Australia weren't so difficult to deal with, and we didn't have the xmas break, the ignition would have been back 4 weeks earlier. The delay has nothing at all to do with ATP, if anyone is to blame, it would be me. Trying to talk to offshore help desks and also having to organize 3 different international waybills (the same one but from three different people), and dealing with contracted couriers that mess things up when they pick up in the middle of nowhere (where I live) certainly added a lot of time to the shipment.

lol, i was pmed that link a couple hours ago. i too am glad gil is back. in gil's return case i can see msd doing what they did. they look at the brain and it tests fine, toss the letter aside, and maybe think this guy wants to get a new brain before the 2-3 year fail period starts. my point would have to be that if your msd fails within the one year period make sure that it isn't the coils, grounds, switch, pickups, before you do all the work to return the msd product. make sure its the brain that has failed and not working at all.

the one i sent back, i cut the fuse off, and it had different connectors from JSS instead of the msd deutch connectors and they fulfilled the warranty by sending a new unit in the box with paid shipping back.

UPS shipping is crap, we canadians pay huge when we use it internationally. i tracked a package that made it to the boarder for customs, but it was 4 days early so it travelled back out each day all over your states on day trips until it made it to my house on the expected date. usually if i see a package at the boarder when tracking, that afternoon it is on my porch. pffft shipping.
