Our whole crew races down here in R5. I run a old superjet with a group k motor in vintage and a novice stock sxr. others run anything from a 550 kawi to a giant 4 stroke wheel chair.
I raced in beginner class twice in 2008 and once in veterans in 2009 in region 6 it is a blast! I will most likely do it again this year... possibly racing my SJ in Vintage !
Just did the nationals at Racine, doing the entire great lakes races with Scot Hyke and his new monster cool start gate! 44 years old and still coming to the line.
Last race was the World Finals in 1995. Starting to think about it again though. Ive been racing dirtbikes for a long time but it isnt the same. Three X2s and an HX in the garage just waiting.
i raced in the early 90s started racing again this season in reg 5 and won the 800 limited championship will be doing it again this season on a faster ski and racing the 800 open also
Im a free-rider and racer. I think all the wave jumping and stunts really helped me when I got on the Race course. The events are incredible, and the competition is great. More boats on the line, the better. I go out to win, but my focus is having fun. I enjoy every second. The helmet hides my smile. The technology is there to do just about any motor/ski combo you could dream of, so that comment about race boats having no bottom end is hilarious. Its all in how you set up your ski. Im only a few years into racing now, and have a few titles to my name, but I wont be satisfied until I get a world title. Just my opinion guys, dont bash it.
I raced from 93 to 99 in region one. I raced and the world finals 95,96,97,98,99 Oh yeah and it was on a stand up all those years i never sold out to a couch! ha
