How much cash do you dump into a stock hull superjet

Hey guys I just joined the forum but Ive been on here doing a ton of reading. Lots of helpful and knowledgeable folks on here. Lots of talent to :D I recently acquired a 08 superjet. It already had a factory B pipe, Trinity head with dual cooling, footholds and electric bilges. Ive dumped about $2500 into the ski since I bought it. I put in a blowsion billet handlepole with lowered bracket. Im 6'3" and roughly 205lbs and the ski just doesnt seem to like my weight. I will say this is my first stand up but it seems to cavitate alot when I try to peload the pump and then pin the throttle. Im wondering how much further I go into the whole. Do I ride what I have for now and put more money in it or start saving for Am setup

Sorry guys should have stated that. Right now Im strictly flat water. Id like to get into flatwater freestyle. Im not opposed to surf Id just like to get better riding my ski first. The original owner said it was the stock intake grate and prop. It had an extended TBM ride plate that I took off and replaced it with a stock D cut.

One of the reasons the ski doesnt like your weight is because your handlepole is too long.

If you are running a stock prop, your ski may very well be spinning with the power upgrades you have done.

Imo since you've recently acquired your machine and have already thrown 2500 at it it seems money is flowing like a cool mountain stream. Go aftermarket. I wish I would have right away. Now when I ride a superjet I feel like I'm trying to balance a bowling ball on a razor blade.

Hmm I installed it all the way in on both ends as far it would go. Should I cut the tubing section down a bit. I was thinking of working on the pump section next. Might go with a 144mag and new prop

Yes you should cut the tubes down more. Mag pump and 9/15 hooker would help, but the 08 prop is good stock too.

HAHA no money is def an issue here. I think the wife would kill me if I took out a 25k loan for a used freestyle ski. Im really tring to decide if at 32 Ill ever reach the skillset to put an expensive fully custom boat to use

Just do it. For the good of the sport. I'm 32 also and I may never get a backflip or barrel roll around but there's nothing to lose trying. An am hull will be the best upgrade you make. I bought mine and got it shipped to my house for less than 3 k

Buy a 3-5k hull and put all your parts in it and you've got a fun freestyle ski..
Thats looking more and more like the direction I may be heading. Id like a nice strong and lighter boat that I can have fun with and not have to wrench on every weekend. I may look into a jetmaniac engine over the winter

Thanks Lumpy I guess I just need to start keeping and eye on the "used hull" section and decide on what hull will suite my needs

Fwiw if you do go that route and build a boat that you want to be reliable get all new (or at least mint used) electronics if you don't already have them.

Thanks for all the help guys. Theres really no stand up skis around or not that ive seen so any advice is definitely appreciated. I was wondering why my back was destroyed today after riding yesterday. The pole being way to long was probably the issue facepalm
