how to make homemad pole limiting rope?

i made this one. after i thought about it though i might just buy one from blowsion or if ATP or xmetal has one or i might not need one at all. i just used to of those mini climbing clips some rope and an eye bolt. i dont have any bungee right now.

ya your right i made the rope too long. the pole doesnt extend all the way though, so thats good.

as long as it doesnt extend all the way you should be fine. now that i look at your pic again, are those cheap aluminum carabiners? if so you will want to go to your local hardware store and get some stainless steel ones. not only because they are stainless but they are much stronger. the cheap ones will straighten out easy.

Ya and ss eye bolt, I've straightened one of those also!! I wish I would have taken pics

ya they are just cheap ones i had laying around. i had them in my hunting stuff for clipping my bow to a rope to pull it up the treestand.

here is mine, its what everyone else is making with all SS harware. I also made hood straps by ordering 2 snap straps from strapworks.com and cuting them up. they also have SS clips rated at 2000lbs for climbing

i found the rope to help me with rolls . i tied it short to stop me from standing up mid roll. now i dont even use one at all. (nothing but salty waves here)

Thanks! I was going to buy the rope and straps, but it was easy enough to make. Some rope clams and heat shrink tubing and ss hardware and that's it

I've had mine hooked to the hood latch for 4 seasons of flatwater rec and freestyle. No issues, yet.
