OP, glad you're looking into getting a standup. This thread is great and you're getting great advice, I would definitely listen. We've ALL been where you are, myself included.

What i'll tell you, and you won't believe me is... there is a 85% chance that in two years you'll look back on this purchase and laugh because you'll probably 4 to 5 times this initial investment sunk into a ski plus accy's.

But I digress...

There is a HUGE value in getting a solid ski up front. Because if you buy a ski that needs anything, you have to consider the repair cost. EG: Battery will be $50-$90, most used skis need batteries.

Bottom line, you get what you pay for. If you can spring for the nicer ski, it will pay dividends down the road.

Thanks for all the advice. I worked out a deal for the 92. I think it will be a good ski to learn on. I talked the guy down to 1500 and I'm picking it up this weekend. I think I can get a couple of years of fun out of the sn before I want more. I never owned a stand up and I'm really looking forward to it.

Nice one, 87. I payed the same for my 91 and it's way less clean. I'm still loving mine a season later and I have way more to learn before the motor is the problem.

Thanks, what's the best way to load a square nose into a s10? I doubt my tailgate will close so I'm going to have to strap it. Just thought I would ask in case there are tricks to the trade, if not ill figure it out.

i prefer to put the nose of the ski in first as the heavier portion will not be hanging off the back partially. If no bed liner I use a piece of carpet. Be careful loading and unloading the ski especially of the ski has a scoop style grate. The pump Shoe is plastic and can be damaged if recklessly slid in or out.

You misspelled months....

LOL congrats... It's a addictive hobby.
If you wanted to get fancy-ish with your transport, you could build a base for your bed out of 2x4's, space the long pair to match the chine width (I think it's 13" on center?) shape the corners a little add carpet.

Otherwise some shag in the bed works.

I just drove the 92 for the first time today, I got it home at 1 am and than had to work :-( but I have to pay for it somehow. It is a blast to drive but I think I need a different ride plate. I believe it is the original one and I can't go faster than cruising speed even with all my weight as far as possible up front. It just wants to porpoise. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I want the standup for jumping and more freestyle use so I don't know if that is the ride plate I should use or something else.

also, does anyone have a recommendation for a cover for the 92 superjet?

Stock ride plate is preferred for 'freestyle' but going full speed is almost the opposite of freestyle. So I wouldn't worry about the proposing too much. More time in the tray will help with that.

You never rode a stand up before right? Give yourself time to practice before swapping out handling parts. I say keep it stock and learn the boat and how it reacts to what you try to do.

Ok sounds good. How about a cover for the sn. I see a plain blue one on eBay but that is about it, any suggestions in that department?

Ride it a couple more times and that will go away.

Has anyone tried a motorcycle cover?

615 Freeriders are addicted to T1 madness.
I want to chime in and MAKE SURE YOU Listen to these guys when they say DO NOT BUY KAWI, GET A SUPERJET even if it is a 650.
The weight, hull shape and the larger pumps make them better for freeride than the Kawi, plus there are WAY MORE options for improving them than the kawis now days.
$1600 should get you one if your patience holds up.
Once you get one or even before, take time to search the X for great CHEAP mods, like RN pole conversion, Hood MODS A MUST, footholds and turf, then go to the intake grate if you dont get a good one with the boat, next a PIPE, yup a pipe is gonna sting but it is where to start, save the $ and get a B-pipe it will come in handy later when you change the motor out >>>>>LATER..........
There are hull mods that can be done cheap as well. These can get expensive but if you take your time and do things in the right order it will not sting as bad.
you may end up with $4k in it but it can be over a few years and your riding all the while so its not too bad.

BUT PLEASE DONT BUY EVEN A CHEAP KAWI, its $ pissed away as if you enjoy standups you will end up with a superjet based ski in time and the kawi will be a waste of your time and money in the mean time.
