Yes DK, I already trim it and if I had to do it again YES you are absolutely right, use a hand blade THEN sand. I say this because you really want to minimize the amount of dust. Because NO MATTER how careful you are, sanding Fiberglass is a PITA because you get those fibers in your body somehow and then you are scratching for days......Damn!.

Next time I will get a Tivek suit.....

what happens if you use too much resin?

My understanding is that it makes it weak....or weaker?
Specially if you have pools of it at some spots.
The strength comes from the glass itself, the actual cloth.
Resin can actually crack....and eventually does.

It is the same as everyone else's. Just make sure you DO NOT get Vinyl-Ester Resin. They might try to sell you that one instead if you tell them you are going to reinforce a Jet-Ski.......Epoxy Resin all the way.....

thanks man already used it anyways, but when i went to get more hardener the tap plastics guy said they have bean having trouble with it sticking to smc
