It feels underpowered compared to a yamaha because it is in a way. It doesn't have that instant throttle response we expect from the b1 and other yamahas. It's not snappy, but its more powerful through the mid and top. It feels less powerful because it has to wind up a little. No snap. Not as exciting.
That is the nature of the rotary valve motor. Lags down low compared to a reed motor, but pulls good mid to top. Add onto that, the hx is a heavy girl with a deep V. The B1 is relatively light with a flatish bottom. For two skis that are in the same racing division, you couldn't get more different.
