pull up on the little lever dealio on the other side (touching your fingers in the pic), and release the connectors from eachother.
use a paper clip to bridge the two contacts together on the two wires that are going into the box (as opposed to the start switch)

Damn, That thing is stout, couldnt get it....I pull up on the lever....and pull just the wires out? Or does the connector split in half? If I could see how it works I think I could get it....just dont wanna rip nothing out of it.
I should add that when I hit start, I get absolutely nothing. No clicking or anything.

the connector will split in half...keep at it, those things are annoying until you figure out exactly how they work..

Ok, I got it I think, The only end that pulled out was the Starter switch side, I look in the connecter and see two prongs...can I just bridge these two prongs with a screwdriver? Or is a paperclip better or what lol.
OR should I keep working at it until I get the Box end to pull out as well....

This is the next test I need to do.
2. open electrical box, use a screwdriver to jump across the posts on the starter solenoid. This bypasses the solenoid, if it cranks, then your problem is at the solenoid.
Could you provide me more specific instructions? I can take pictures of anything as well.

check out grifnasty's "need electrical help" thread. all of your starter/solenoid troubleshooting tips should be in there.
Like I said, buy a fluke meter.
I just went out to my new Superjet, battery reads 12.54, I start the ski and it reads 12.75.
There are no readings jumping all over the place, or screen going blank. I guess you get what you pay for when it comes to tools. This was tested with a Fluke 16 purchased from Sears.

I will stufy grifnasty's thread. But I have a question that is not in it...How do I get too the electrical box? I could not figure out how to open it...will I have to take it out of the ski? There are not any screws in the front, so will I have to take the front panel off on the FX1?
i admit that my findings were years ago from testing old kawis. yamis probably do have better 'rectification'.
kane, open up the little storage dealy in the tray and youll see the 3 bolts that hold the box to the top deck. undo them and take the box out and theres a bunch of phillips screws that hold the box halves together.

If you just shook the wires and it starting working again; that probably didn't put a permanent fix to the problem. You might want to look a little closer at the wires you shook and clean up the connections or re-wire them all together, or you might have this problem again later.

He just didnt have a good connection in the connector from the start/stop to the E box. This can usually be fixed with some contact cleaner, a q tip and a dab of di-electric grease. Maybe a zip is needed....if that doesnt work then rewire them but only as a extreme

When you did not call Sat. morning I called you sometime before noon and left you a voicemail.
Any way I will call you before we leave.
I am bringing an old college friend and another friend is supposed to bring his SECTIONAL (sleeper) COUCH out a bit later a.k.a 3 person sitdown FYI.
