That's true I would be hesitant about buying a ski I haven't seen. When I posted that I meant that a stock one in good condition is much more appealing than the modded one that is trashed. I didn't necessarily mean you should buy that exact one. Just showing you what else is out there right now.

That being said, I've bought cars out of state and flew out to see/buy them. It makes for a fun road trip diving back. We are only a day's drive from you. He might take 2k and then you could use the other 500 to pay for your gas, food, and other legal stuff here that isn't legal there .

He's pretty firm on the price. He said he would make sure it starts. No other guarantees. Maybe I should see if it runs and test ride it, if it ever warms up, expected 2-4" of snow today

Have him get it running. Then do a compression check on it. If it comes out ok I wouldn't worry about buying it for 2500. Without it running I would say no more than 1500.

I bough a superjet 2 years in the same condition. The idiot left the hood off for a year or two outside. No water ever got in the engine but the starter went bad. Replaced the starter and cleaned the carb. 2 years and 2 owners later the ski still runs great. Only thing that ever went wrong was the start stop switch. But I did get lucky by not having water in the motor.

The fx1 pipe carries a nice price, but a mod pipe works just as well and fits good enough without any other modifications. Not worth $3k at all. $1500 at best, imho

The one in Denver is clean and I bet there are people who live out there on this forum, I.E. Wet Dreams, who could go look at this ski for you if you're serious, if you pay them for the time

But, if your all about the underwater FX1, go for it. Good luck with all the problems and over paying.

There is another one listed out here. He wants waaaaaaaay too much but maybe you can offer him a realistic price and see if he takes it. Original owner. If this guy gets 3400 for his I'm listing mine for an absurd amount.... Like 6k lol

LOL, everybody thinks FX-1's were made at Buckingham Palace...lol He will never get 3400.

I have a all stock FX-1 with only Pro-tec intake/ride plate, brand new swirl impeller, handle bars/grips, and bilge pump. Also a few cosmetic items like billet pissers and bow/stern eyes, A/M pole pad, & marbled white Hydroturf. What do think I should ask for it if I decide I need to sell it again(sold it 6.5 years ago, got it back again a month ago) for a RN SJ.

My FX has no footholds as i built it originally for my 7 year old Daughter at the time. Its been through 3 owners since then and no one has molested w/foot pockets or thepump yet, just a paint job. What do you guys think its worth? I just re did the bottom of hull and touching up stuff on top deck the past owners did. Engine/exhaust all OEM.

Ya I would offer a reasonable price, like 1800 maybe. I know to him it's going to seem like a lowball but maybe you can nicely explain to him how rediculous his asking price is lol

wouldnt pay more than like 600-800 for that underwater fx1. The only value to me would be the pipe. Everything else will take too much effort to clean and re-use.

I cant stand when someone sells something on CL and has no pics. It just really bugs the shizz out of me and turns me off from the seller big time, unless its like some super deal or something...

Another CL FX-1 from recent I found. A little high priced IMO, but anyone can ask anything they want.. They are getting more rare to find all the time! and doesnt everyone start their price a little high anyway??

Just offer him $1,000 bucks as is with pipe included. If it ends up being toasted you can make most of the money back selling off the pipe. Then use that money to buy a used 701, get the electronics rebuilt by jetskisolutions.com, and the midshaft rebuilt by Jetmaniac.
