So much stuff has happened since I've last posted but I finally have time to work on my ski. I did end up testing my stator, nothing was off. I swapped cdi nothing changed, but during the rebuild I swapped ignition coils and starter solenoids with another ski I had at the time and I believe that might be the problem ( the parts I put on my ski seemed to be way more clean plus my old parts got water all over them). I recently rode the ski and it has below par responsiveness and power even more so in the mid. Could I just take off the spark plug boots and test resistance on the wires to test my ignition coil / wires?

And if this is the problem that would probably be why, even when you guys are saying I'm lean, my pistons are still wet.

Do you still have the heat sensor hooked up? I had similar issue years back, sounded like it bouncing off rev limiter at half crack, found where I had cut rev limiter out the wires were arking and making it cut out, year before that happend my heat sensor had gone bad and caused same issue

oh yeah i forgot to mention when i took off the plugs on the ignition coil the orange one was pretty nasty, all this trouble and it may have just been a damn rusty connection, going to ride her tomorrow updates coming

okay guys, i took the ski out for a ride and @zzylstra rode it too, it has a serious bottom bog and clears up only when im pinned. i took my head off and the pistons are wet, i thought i was leaking water in through the o ring in the head like before, so i swapped to a stock head and rode it today with the same problem.. im running 75/135 55psi popoff. thing is it only happens in water, out of water it blips fast with any amount of throttle and sounds crisp, compression at 190 on both cylinders.

Check for a cracked cylinder. Plug your cooling fittings on the head and put a bicycle pump with guage on your b pipe manifold cooling inlet. My bet is you will find a crack in the cooling jacket of the cylinder.

Okay I'll do that in just a bit, I'll have to find a bike pump first, but what will I be looking for and if there is a crack how is that affecting my ski

Might not be it. Piston would be milky if the fuel and oil mixed in there. It's easy to test though. Can't hurt.

If it is a crack you ski won't run right with water in the cylinder.....

Yeah it idles fine. I guess I can hook it up to a garden hose and fire it up, if it stumbles when I do that It has to be getting water in. Would you guys think it's just not stumbling out of water just because there's no load on the prop and it can spin up faster?

If you notice on the dome on the intake side it's all clean and the exhaust side is burnt? Is this normal? That makes me think it's just dumping fuel in but only when it's in water it doesn't make sense

Everyone's ski runs great on the trailer.. Have you checked your pop off with a pump and verified you do not have a leaking seat or o-ring? If it idles fine and runs well pinned, then the issue is your mid range circuit. Also worth checking your reeds.

Replaced my needle and seats, the numbers were everywhere. To leaking at 30 and popping at 50 so I put them in and it made a little bit of a difference

Tore apart my whole ebox, replaced the mounting part with a clean unrusted one, cleaned all connections, and had a new oem rectifier I had on the shelf put in there for fun. I just left out of town but I'll be back and test ride Tuesday
