If you could live anywhere and ride surf!

Thinking about moving sometime in the near future and wondering what are some of the best places to live and ride surf. I'm looking to be able to ride year round. I would prefer to live in the U.S but would be open to other countries that speak english.

We ride all year round in the south west of England. We get surf ranging from 3 foot to 20 foot.
Plus we speak proper English :)

I like NC pretty well and may be heading to SC in the future. We can ride year round, but it does get cold and surf on the East Coast isn't really that great most of the time.

Next on my list would be Australia around the Gold Coast area. I loved surfing there, but never rode skis.

I don't think trading California's laws and taxes for our surf would be worth it to me, but the weather and waves do look amazing.

Costa Rica keeps coming up in our house. A couple buddies from my hometown are down there now starting up a new waterpark and could really use someone with my skills. We will be flying down in a couple months to check out the situation.

Surf is great but fuel and import fees are astronomical, (and unregulated).
