impeller choice with 148mm setback magpump

Hi,
i have 9/14 d75 impeller on my 148mm setback mag pump and it seems to be short pitch.....my engine is 830cc (83mm stroker +8mm pv) with gp800 nozzle at stock bore 83mm and my hull is lightweight.
If you have feedback in similar setup......
Thank you

I have 85 piston and 6 mm crank with MSD TL with 148 set back Mag pump pitch 8/14 work fine, I might try stock 144 pump with 11/17 or 12/18 hooker.

what was your reduction nozzle diameter for the record. I will probably go with 86-87mm but with my smaller motor may have to go even bigger.

Before test the 148 mag, i rode 15/20 on 140mm setback and i don't find better result with 148. engine rev up very fast but my ski no!!!!! Pump seal is ok.

prob because you engine isn't big enough to need the 148

is the tbm with a 12/17 too much for a 701?

is 87mm exit nozzle too large for the 144 pump?

you seem to be stuck on the numer infront of cc's instead of how well motor is setup. i have been on a 701 ski that rips harder than a full jetworks setup. yawn.

i dunno, i think brett is right.

im running a c75 non set back 13/19 in my 144mm setback 12 vein skat pump.
and my dasa/ thrust motor is almost 1000cc. ive tried 14/20, and a 15/20 and the 13/19 seems to work the best.

but i also have a power factor pipe, so thats changes it alot to

some of you guys wouldn't be trying to push the more water from the 148 pump through the same size reduction nozzle as your 144? if so, no wonder you need the 1000cc motor to make it work, and yes i know it works good. to make it work on a smaller motor will require a much different approach. think about it boys, i talked to skat and it won't be a problem i assure.

but if a 144 mag works great on a 1000cc dasa, why do you need a 148? my 6mm lamey works perfect with my 144 mag. 85mm nozzle, 13/18 prop. wonldnt change a thing. all this talk about 148 mags and 49mm carbs has me wondering if im missing somthing lol. mines only got a 144 and 46mm carbs! is there more to be had?

The 148 pump works great.... Would never look back, currently running a 150....

It's not about being to big or to small, if you prop it right it will work... I like the 148 better than the 150 I'm currently running. The 148 has just a little more bottom snap, but the 150 pulls harder up top...

It all comes down to what makes you happy
