You are correct and wrong at the same time,you are correct in that the systems on 650 & 701 Yamahas are similar but the 760 and Kawi 750 systems are totally different both do use a separate pickup coil though.
WRONGyamahas and kawis both run off of basically the same system. you need to double check your discharge there, scorny.
