You are correct and wrong at the same time,you are correct in that the systems on 650 & 701 Yamahas are similar but the 760 and Kawi 750 systems are totally different both do use a separate pickup coil though.

they all run capacitive discharge systems. regardless of where they decide to mount certain parts of the ignition, they all basically work the same.

yamahas and kawis both run off of basically the same system. you need to double check your discharge there, scorny.

I'm sure you think I should stick to anything other than disagreeing with you. I'm not disagreeing with the fact that the systems are wired differently, but they're all running from DC current blasted to AC discharge...lol it doesn't matter if the sxr has a DC cdi or not, capacitive dicharge ignitions work the same, regardless if the voltage received by the plugs is direct, or alternating.


what would be the point in converting DC current to AC, then back to DC, just to feed the plugs?
