Other Jet Ski Gloves

I started using the black nitrile gloves you see used in the workshop. I wear them as a liner underneath my usual gloves and it allows me to ride in cooler (by several degrees Celsius) conditions.

I note that they have expanded the range of thickness of these gloves to the point where the Mechanix brand are apparently 5 mm thick! I would think you could just use the nitrile gloves by themselves if that’s the case.

My advice would be to start out with the thinnest version you can find (to minimise bulk) and work your way up until you find the sweet spot for you.

You got experience with these McPuppy?
If he doesn't, I can tell you they last a looong time. My son wore a pair for a long time on both his B1 and SN and for slalom skiing behind the boat and he rides hard. I think he outgrew them before he wore them out. I wore a pair similar when I was water skiing all the time and they are very very durable but not quite as comfy as jet ski gloves especially around the wrist.

I always run hand warmers when cold though. They are plenty thick enough. I wear thd 3/4 finger ones in summer because the full fingers make me hot.

I have been using these Walmart Forcefield gloves for a couple of seasons now. They've been really holding up well. Not the most comfy out there but surprisingly durable, really good grip with them, that little bit of extra color to be seen if you fall off and the ski takes a ride on its own lol, and quite affordable.

I spent a little bit more than ususal last season and got the Carbon knuckle fox moto gloves.
They made it through the whole season this year and are gonna be making into next year also.
Dont waste your $$$ on cheap gloves that will only last you a few trips to the water.
Smokin bill. Dead and gone but not forgotten. Wrong about costly gloves lasting any longer but whatever. A buddy gave me railroad workers gloves and the lasted for seasons. Usually gloves are crap. These were like 12$ on ebay

+1 to that Buzzard, my gloves cost me $19 and have 2 seasons on them now of good use...2-4 rides a week. They're still like new and holding up well. MX gloves usually give me most of a season then need to be replaced. I've tried a bunch of different MX glove brands too, one season tops. The cheaper work gloves I use now have so far been the best. I've had them before too but those ones tore at the cuff from pulling them on, they lasted 2 seasons as well. This makes their minimal lifespan of 2 seasons and maximum still under testing :)

I have Fox Carbon Knuckle motocross Gloves made it through the 2020 season and thats it also they used to try quick release themselfs from my wrist (velcro is Trash) so they will be going in the Trash.

This season Ill be looking at getting a thin set of divers gloves for 10-18 degree (Celcius) weather, then probably some Illusive gloves for warmer weather.

Just curious why some of these glove companies like illusive won’t restock normal sizes like medium or large? Not one glove on their site is available in those sizes. Kind of sucks because they have some cool designs. I would have liked to buy a couple pairs.
