Has anyone rode both side by side? Trying to decide which one to go with. Both will be a upgrade over my current setup, but just not sure if i should save for the BB? I have rode two JM 771 & 781, but have not rode any JM 718's.

Whats the price difference between the two im not even that sure. I think the BB is like 2700? I loved mine when I first got it, my buddy has one in a hull way lighter than mine and his was insane!! Probably FW flip-able if he tried, helps to have carbon ;)

Mine is a 735 and it makes good power. I do plan on sending it back to him after this summer to get it upgraded to a 781.

I would save up for the 781 if you are putting it in the foot rocket. That ski has about 30 pounds on the hurricane.

They have a 735 61x single carb for 1495. So call it a 1200 difference in size, I think in terms of investments so which motor holds the value more...thats why I went with the 781. Plus its a rocket. Good luck OP

If budget is an issue just go with what will make you not broke, if budget isn't i have ridden two motors that say GO 781

stay small, ive been running my maniac 735 for years. its my ol' trusty engine. just keeps running and running with a few hones or an overbore cause I popped an air filter off. I'll actually have it in my hull @ Daytona this year. check it out. jeff

I had the 781 in my Q8. Loved it, it was capable of FW flip, just not with me lol. Not sure of your budget but I know they also offer the 781 with the 4mil PHP crank making it a 828. I think Chris still has his personal one.

Thanks for the offer, won't be at Daytona this yr. Maybe one day we can make the trip.

Lookin to keep it under $3k. More money I save will be more money I can spend on other parts for the FootRocket.

Chris's 828 stroker runs on race fuel. I need something that runs on prem. pump gas.

If you got 62 cases get the top end kit att 650 USD, and use the rest for TL carbs reedes etc. I ran the 718 with ATP flame and 220 psi it hade alot off punch for 718.

I thought about that Stefan, but I want to have a full ported engine, not just the top end.
