JETMANIAC's Superfreak 59lb. 2010 Daytona Build
JETMANIAC's Superfreak 59lb. 2010 Daytona Build
I have been working with Tem of Superfreak for some time helping to design the new superfreak hull. Tem has been working with marine composites for over 25 years. In addition, he is an experienced surfer and windsurfer (as well as carbon racing windsurfer builder). He brings his unique experience with hydrodynamics and lightweight composites to freeride hull design. He has been testing this hull design as a new rider for several months now. He landed a backy in the surf on his eighth time out!!

This hull incorporates many new design changes in a modified superjet platform:
*100% high end carbon fiber/epoxy layup schedule
vacuum bagged and post cured for strength and crazy lightweight design
*New wider tray design with lower sculpted sides and integrated 'jetmaniac inspired' front foothold. Allows rider to get his weight farther forward and to use a wider surf stance.
*Tray is also lower tighter to pump for lower center of gravity
*Totally redesigned and lowered handlepole mounting area, allows handlepole bracket to be mounted in stock location or up to 4+" forward
*Modified pump intake design
*Carbon exhaust tube
*No foam in the back, instead there are 3 separate, drainable air chambers
*Raised lip on the hood seal area, helps keep hood sealed and in place.
*Area under bondline at the nose has been filled for better surf performance.
*Under tray behind pump is 45ed and radiused for max trim and full steering lock to lock
*Dual cooling lines, trim cable tube, and integrated scupper
*My hull has been reinforced with extra carbon for surf use as well as flatwater.
Specs:
Hull weight 59 lbs.
Hood 6 lbs.
Nosepiece 1 lb.
Total Setup 66 lbs.
