Jetmate 701 swap

Sweet setup! A friend got a mate not long ago. Still 650 engine. Put a hooker 9/15 and sbn44 with r&d manifold and jetworks filter. Drying out the exhaust, the engine seems to surge at wot. Carb tuning did nothing. I was curious if youre having similar issues with yours and the stock jetmate outlet pipe to waterbox. With the extra pisser plugged to dry out the exhaust, the surging goes away.

I am still running the pipe wet with the 701 and no issues. Did you add the stinger to spray water right before the waterbox?

No just the water entering the headpipe was restricted. I'm just wondering if the exhaust extra is restricting the airflow at the upper rpms due to the design of the stinger. When the pipe isnt dried out, the problem goes away but also the engine turns a lot less rpm. He ordered a stock 650sx pipe and is gonna try the sx cone for better flow in upper rpms. Hopefully itll work

I have a 2.5 seat in the hose right before the water goes into mine so I guess it is sort of restricted. I also increased the pisser off the engine to 3/8th, and closed off the pisser coming off the headpipe. Maybe restrict the pisser on the head a little at time?

Took her all apart again to try and re-align everything. Also put the kids to work scrapping off the old hood seal so I could put a new one down. I got the vibration pretty damn close to gone but still have it. Hopefully the mounts break in and loosen up a bit this season.

While I had the pump apart I figured why not sharpen the veins and clean up a couple rough patches. And after looking at the large block of a diverter in the jetmate nozzle my first thought was to cut it out, but instead I thinned her out and put an edge on the front and back of it.

Went out with the x2 trim installed! Picked up 1mph on the top but best of all it keeps the nose down while in the down position. So far biggest con is steering has a lot more resistance. So when the kiddos drive me around while I drink on the back seat they are not able to turn as quickly.

After 3 weekends of playing tetris with exhaust hoses I finally got her hooked up! And WOW Ski responds much differently when it has the correct size exhaust on it. Need to pick up some more 3/8 water lines and then hopefully the water testing reflects the same. @Aquaholic any tips on how much water to spray into that waterbox I currently have a 180 jet in it.

What are your headpipe screws at? Whats your current water temp?
