Check this out. They want what for a spring and ball. So that is a 20,000 mark-up. Any different valves. This was the email so read from the bottom up.

The spring is 4.50 and the ball is 3.95. you can call us or we can call you to place the order.

Subject: Lost spring/ball

Jetworks,
I purchased a jetworks flow valve a time ago but it wasnt until lately that i created a problem with it. While trouble shooting my setup i opened the control valve and shot the spring and ball far into my yard where i was working loosing them both. I only have the housing and rubber gasket that makes it water tight. (see attached picture) Is there any way you could send me a replacement spring and ball?

Thanks you for your time,

J *********

so thats under $10 for 1/2 of what makes up a $40 part.

all the thing is is a spring, ball, and 2 aluminum halves.

whats the big deal?

did you start a thread about the retail price of them too?

I don't see the issue. You lost the parts, they will sell them, for less then 1/4 what a whole valve costs.

yeah man they gotta make money somehow its a business i wouldn't wanna make 10 cents off somethings i have put time and work into.. thats how it goes sorry bro

When you add in the time it takes for Jetworks to stop fixing skis and building motors (top-notch performance for better than typical rates by the way) to talk with you and ship this to you do you really believe that there is a 20,000 markup? As with any product, materials, alone, do not make up the total cost.

Instead of coming on here to knock Jetworks, how about calling them to ask how they determine their prices. If they tell you something that is unreasonable, THEN, stop being their customer and complain to the board.

Im not not complaining of them charging me something. Everything has a cost but seriuosly. At some point dont you wonder what they paid for, for a bag of those things. $40. yeah that would be the aluminum and fabrication. Why would they want to nickel and dime someone before they really have spend much money with them. I sure as hell dont do that in my business.

while youre wondering what they pay for a bag of balls, you should also wonder what they pay in rent, overhead, electric, payroll, etc.

ITS A BUSINESS DUDE!

pay the $10 already!

some people are so effing CHEAP!

i know what a business is. and i know the difference between markup and margin but thanks for the lesson. as you might see from other posts i like to fix my own problems rather than buying new handle poles etc. doesnt mean im not interested in it. call me old fashion. surfrider if you worked as hard as you battled me on here you shouldnt have any problem pay for the parts for me. dude totally messing with you. i honestly appreciate all your help. just got ripped off too many times today. serously thanks.

seriously, if you're looking to spend pennies instead of dollars figure out what parts yo need and order them from www.mcmaster.com

I already showed you where to get a $40+ flow control valve for under $15. you can figure out the rest.
