well, ART has to pay to have the stuff done, I don't see the big deal in having to pay for replacement parts. it keeps the company in business. that would suck4ss if everyone got free replacement parts, and then companies go out of business for giving too much stuff away, then wtf you gonna do for replacement parts?...LOL

I just bought 100 octane fuel for $8.99 gal.....filled a 5 gal jugg. Can I bitch that it cost more than pump gas and that the gas station shouldn't be ripping me off while I try to enjoy my hobby??? Bastards.
What is the threadstarter's paypal addr...I'll send my 15 cents and ask you all chip in....but then again he'd complain about the pay pal fees. :Banane01:

well, as far as aftermarket companies go, we all need to chip in and support them every chance we can get, or we will run in to a bunch of small niche companies going out of business like we did in the mid '90's. screw that.

Is there some sort of contest to be won for telling the guy he's in the wrong sport for the n'th time?

You're in the wrong sport...(Please PM me if I have won)

I heard the pjs spring is much stiffer. Jet works says the spring they used is custom made and variable rate. In other words opens easier past the initial cracking pressure, that is what you need. Jetworks supports distributors pjs does not. When pjs came out with theirs after jetworks they were 65.00
I payed 8.00 for a corn dog at the county fair and I didn't complain, maybe it should have been 99 cents. I see it more of a service to ship the parts than a money making sale for Jet Works.

WOW. I never thought i would wake up to three pages on this issue. Hell i only about 10 hits when i was trying to fix my handle pole. Maybe i am in the wrong sport but honestly this is the smallest boat on the water. Im glad i dont race sails anymore. Let me give you a better idea of where i am coming from. Then we can argue somemore. I bought a Blowsion nozzle a few years back. It pivots on a 1/4" stainlex, allen, fine thread, ... well locktite has broken loose a couple times and ive had to shoot them email explaining my issue. Understanding my issue and me wanting to get back on the water they sent me out a new screw asap. NO CHARGE. actually that has happened twice now. 2) sunday i purchased the ADA head from Legdrag. In the email order i asked if they had any of the recomended plugs on hand and if i could throw some of those in my order since they are obviously different then the ones i use. monday i get a voicemail from Kevin. Hey got my order. he said "im sending it out today. i threw 4 of the br8es (i think it was) plugs in the box for you. NO CHARGE. does that help. Both the owner of Blowsion (i forget your name right now) and Kevin at Legdrag. Hats off to you. People like them that spend time talking to me on the phone and helping me out are why when i wanted a new head i didnt shop around. even if is legdrag is more expensive i know that they back there products and more importantly their customer. lastly thank you all for the alternatives. i guess there is merit to was i am talking about. come on 3 more pages.

There is alot more mark up involved when selling a complete head or a Blowsion Nozzle, therefore easier to absorb a few dollars here and there. Not so easy on a $40 part.

I think we have all been in your shoes at one point. One thing I keep in mind is that you win some you lose some. Maybe these parts cost you 10 bucks but you did get $8 worth of plugs for free from Kevin so you are still looking good in the big picture. Your bottom line has to account for the big picture. Sometimes I lose money on selling parts, other times I make a good profit, it all works out and I am still ahead in the end.

You can't always be looking at just the losses category of your finances. The glass is always half full and you should be glad you have a glass at all.

If all you have ever bought is a Jetworks Flow Control Valve and you lost the parts that makes it work, well, that is your fault. That is not the same as a screw falling out. Your fault again. Preventive maintenance.

If you were a customer like Crammit, NJFL, MattE or other regular customers who have spent $1000's then yeah, they may have said, "Hey, dont worry, it coming in the mail no charge." But, I dont think your that kind of customer. If you bitching over $10.00 for parts, I will send you $5.00 to lessen the hit to your wallet.

pjs has a variable rate valve, too.

where did you hear they don't support distributors?

the spring on the jetworks is variable rate.

the spring in the pjs is constant, but the constant tension of the spring is 'variable' by twisting the body. its still not a variable rate spring.

how does that make any sense? a spring is a spring, if you can adjust the spring tension to adjust the pressure rate of flow by twisting the apparatus, then wouldn't that mean that it's adjustable?...lol

both companies have two different versions of the thing. one is constant, the other is adjustable by twisting it.

Variable rate spring = force required to compress spring changes with distance compressed.

Constant rate spring = force required to compress spring is constant, regardless of distance compressed.

spring != spring

its okay, travis. i dont expect a simpleton, such as yourself, to understand this very simple concept.
