How did you go about cutting the pole down?
I moved the entire pole forward "6. This way I could get the steering closer to the nose for better control. Also I didn't have to find a way to chop the pole down. I extended the tray forward into the motor cavity 3". So my overall pole loss was about 3-4" It seems perfect when I am riding hard, but it is a pain in my back to rest for a minute out there.

So you didn't have to chop the pole down? You just moved it forward? Looks shorter compared to my AC pole...

No I thought about it, but the pole is aluminum, and I would need a to pay to have that it re welded, and I didn't think that it would ever be as strong. So I moved it forward. I had the entire ski finished. All the glass work was almost done, and I couldn't figure out how to cut the pole down right, so I cut a hole in the front of the ski and started the process of moving it forward. I had to put so many layers in to make it strong. It is almost 1/2" thick in that area. But I am so glad I did it this way. Look at most AM skis. The steering is always so close to the nose. Most stock skis it is like a foot or more back from the nose. I knew I had to move it forward. I designed this ski after a rickter XFS and later bought an XFR.

Damn this is the nicest SN build I have seen. What is the final weight on it?

Thank you!

It was 110 lbs with the hood. Not sure on the RTR weight, I will check soon.

how does the ski handle with flat water or chasing boat wakes?

and where did you put your air holes in the hood?

I only ride in the ocean. It is set up for low end power. Still seams pritty fast at full throttle. Not as as stable as a stock ski at this speed, Have to give up something for better turning and handling in the waves though.

I put in breather tubes that go through pole and bracket.

Thanks.

Love the foothold, exactly what I'm planning to do apart from I can't get a set to copy so I will need to mould my own from something. How did you go about making yours adjustable, or are the bolted directly on? If not how are they held In?

Take the shoe that you are going to ride with. Cut out some cardboard to fit over how you like it. Then wrap the cardboard with plastic (garbage bag works nice) and duck tape the edges tight from under neath, after you pull your shoe out. Now your are ready to lay glass over the plastic bag. Once dried the plastic will peal out and you will be left with a first layer. Trim the edges up with a sander and repeat this untill strong enough. Then lay some carbon fiber over the top for the last coat. That is what I will do when these break. You can see in thread where I cut out a rectangle out of the side rail of my ski, after my first layer of glass. I cut the foam out so I could see the outside edge of my rail. I filled this rectangle with epoxy and microballoons to make it light but solid. This way I can bolt through the side without water getting in and or squeezing and cracking the side. Then I finished laying the rest of the glass in side the tray. To move it would un bolt it and drill two new holes in the foot hold. I am going to try to leave the bolts that go into the rail, as I dont want to make new holes there where you will see. You could cut little slots in the foot hold so that all you have to do is loosen a screw and move it quickly. I don't forsee needing to move it around on the water though.
Thanks for all the questions.

I also need to say thanks to my Bro N Law, Jacob, Xh20 Member Jakeslim. I appreciate the help and in put on the ski. It wouldn't have been as fun without a buddy to watch it all go down.
