I just got a call from Heather Selwitz who just talked with Joes Brother Sahwn - Joe has been responding to things - Joe squeeze my hand - Joe blink your eyes etc.etc.etc..............

Our boy maybe on our way back to us!!! Keep the positive vibes coming and keep him in your thoughts and prayers - He isn't out of the woods yet but this is definetely a good sign!!!!

I don't know for sure - I literllay only had a few minutes with heather but Shawn wanted to make sure we spread the word -

I read in the other thread that they were going to start cutting back on the drugs that keep Joe in the coma.
If that's the case and he responded so quickly it could be a good sign.

I hope I'm right but I'm no doctor.

Joe is not out of the coma, but the news is encouraging. Heather just called me as well, but I'm slow on the posting (or Laurel's quicker than I am today...LOL!)

I'm told he's responding to some verbal commands by lightly squeezing the requestor's hand, and seems to be trying to follow some voice commands. We are still awaiting word on the results of his neurological testing which was performed yesterday (CT scan, and various studies), but a direct quote from Heather: "This is the first time I've heard Shawn (Joe's brother) happy on the phone since this thing started."

Like he said...keep the positive mojo flowing - he's still going to need a lot of it.

Will update as soon as I hear directly from the family.
