What's going on with all your fuel lines? Single carb but running two filters? And separator?

I still have a reserve switch in the tray... not a bad idea with only a 9l Kart Tank. I have a filter on both "on" and "reserve" because these filters are about $3 and easier the change than the one inside the SBN44 carb. Water separator is easier than emptying the tank.... and i dig the sexy orange lines :-D

Yea it's a 650 pipe. I might modify it a bit. And I'm still debating between a 650 style waterbox with front exhaust or rear exhaust. With the 650 box I could probably fit the battery in the front right which would balance out the ski better. And I'm going to modify the hood so I have no rubbing with my pro k arrester.

I think you're right... With a front exhaust and a Kart Tank there would be plenty of room for the battery up front. My ski had rear exhaust so no room. I used a different form factor battery (Narrower and taller) to squeeze it into the back right corner.

This is a really interesting build... keep it coming!

Sorry if i missed this, but are you going to leave it as a flat deck??? sick build. impressed with the commitment. Keep it up!
I'm still debating. Flat deck sounds much easier and cheaper. Nothing is set in stone until I actually do it.

thanks, I'm leaning towards the front exhaust with the battery in the front right... Unless someone convinces me I need rear exhaust

It will keep the exhaust out of your face while riding... IMO... I hated riding my buddies 550 over my SN...

If it doesn't already have rear exhaust it's probably not worth the effort to make it. The only downside to rear exhaust that I've found is that if you're doing a tail stand the exhaust cavitates the pump. The downside to side exhaust is just that it's a bit louder.

got started on the second rail, put two layers of glass on and next ill pull the foam out from under and put another two layers from the bottom. the other side has 4 layers and the tubbies glassed in. IMG_0017.jpgIMG_0018.jpg

I'm using only 1708 biaxal which is still soaking up way more resin than I thought it would. Granted I'm probably not doing a great job of getting the extra resin out because its not easy to roll out rails and tight spaces. Also this is my first project ever using fiberglass.
Ay reason for using the different weight glasses?

I think it was ScottS - He used 5 layers of 1208 for his bond rails which I used a similar method of layup to. I either used 2X 1708 and 3X 1208... or 3X 1708 and 2X 1208 - it's been a while since I did it so I forget (you can check my thread it probably says there lol).

Basically I figured I had already done overkill with the 1708 so I finished with 1208 so I could save weight. It worked plenty well and they are strong as :):):):). I'm sure a fall off a trailer onto them would still wreck them, but you can handle the ski with the full weight by them easily with very little flex - I even rounded every corner so that they would be easier to grasp the ski by. sharp edges suck in the water!

Starting to work on the ski again did some grinding to set the ski up for some of the final fiberglass work. Waiting for my first paycheck from my internship to order what should be the remaining parts that I need. I'll probably forgot a thing or two. Trying to finish my 650sx project that so I have a ski to ride for when June comes around. The pics below is where the 300 is now. I'm going to do two layers over the tubbies and on the underside of the rail. Also going to do some of the final work on the pump area. My plan with the exhaust is to hopefully fit in a rear exhaust on the left side with a 650 style waterbox I'm hoping I can tuck the exhaust tube up towards the top of the hull under the little channel where the hood sits. Rather than spend 150 bucks on 6' of aluminum tubing I found a place where I can buy 2' pieces for 15 bucks, and then I'll have someone weld the pieces together.

New plan. I have a 750 in my 650sx with a factory pipe. I'm going to use the head pipe from my Kawi and get a yami manifold and chamber to use on this build. I think if I cut out the inside of my hull into the tubbies I can just fit the pipe in. Il then use the factory manifold with stock head pipe and chamber from my 650 with the now 750.

I used a factory manifold, with a Kawi head pipe (modified for a stinger). I'm using a modified 650SX OEM pipe, but I think there is enough room for a factory chamber.

I got a 650 west coast waterbox and I will probably use it but I don't really like it. The inlet and outlet on it are so small. I bored out the inlet because there was a major difference in wall thickness when casted. I will post pics later tonight. The inlet and outlet on the tdr box I have are too big and the positioning if them are awful for what I want to do. Maybe I will make one over the winter.

I also got a complete b pipe I cut out part of the side of the hull for clearance and emptied out the foam from the left tubby to give a little more space. I will post pics later.
Planning on doing two layer of glass over the back tonight and my foot straps should be in tomorrow and I will put another two down tomorrow and glass in the mounts for the straps.
