Surfriding just curious, shark stories???

Down in the Galveston bay ya see Bulls and Hammers a lot. Never had an issue, just ride and don't think about them I guess. Plenty of swimmers for them to eat. Used to surf the Santa Cruz area, jelly fish and seals tend to be a bigger issue. Buddy jumped in the water once on top of a seal and that joker bit right thru his hand. Also got a shark tattoo when I was 17 so maybe that has helped lol

Never seen anything bigger than a foot or two, but they are all over Galveston that size and a little bigger. Back before they turned the flagship hotel into an overpriced tourist attraction, people used to catch 2-4' off of the pier at the end. I remember seeing the first one in person when I was 10. I thought it was the coolest thing ever that you could catch them.

Might wanna make a run down to San Luis Pass or Surfside, a tad bigger than 2 foot. I've heard goofys say "hey look at the dolphins". My reply was always "oh yeah aint they cute, now go swimming lol

Oh I believe you that there are. I've seen pictures of some decent size ones caught out in the pass. I've just never been unfortunate enough to meet one while swimming. Rented a beach house right on the pass this summer, saw plenty of dolphins, but no sharks this time. I'm more worried about stepping on a stingray out in that area than being bitten by a shark. Those bastards are everywhere. We caught at least 10 of them just fishing off our balcony.

And the jellyfish along with the Portuguese F' yous. Those jellies range from football to nickel size, careful.
