I have a 800 out of an sxr and I'm looking to build a superjet with it in, has anyone done this? Need to know what to do about engine mounts what works and what doesn't. Cheers dan
My carbonconversion platemould is on the way to canada next week. Build some SXR driven TriXstars with it .
Yeah I would be interested, how much are you chasing for it? What year sj hull did you do the conversion in?The easiest way is to run an adapter plate so the engine can mount to the plate and the plate can mount to the hull using your stock mounts. Rad dudes makes an adapter plate for this and I am currently running one, it does require some shimming or in some cases sanding a little off the back of your stock mounts in order to get height correct. I actually bought 4 Rhaas lowered couch mounts so I could just shim up to get exactly what I needed without sanding the stock mounts. You will need to get a coupler set that goes kawi crank thread to yami midshaft thread, ada or cold fusion has these type of parts and you will need a dampener.
The plate and mounts that I have I will no longer be using after a couple of weeks since I am changing hulls and will be running a carbon bedplate so pm me if you are interested.
