Here we go again! It ran fine the last time I went out 4 days ago.
Today, it fires right up as always, I jump on it, it start bogging down just above idle like it is starving for fuel. I change fuel selector to reserve, it gives me a good spurt of power then same thing, if I pump the primer while riding it picks up and goes, then back down again.
The gas is premium, 50:1 as always. There is no fuel filter.
I have had nothing but problems since I gave it to this moron in Clearwater (his name is Eric, he is a BIG dude otherwise I would kick his ***).
Then I took it to Tom who saved it for me, but now it is doing what it did before but worse!
Is it a carb adjustment, crap in the fuel line, electrical, or?????

Cape Coral FL,
Yeah, I had them "rebuilt" by that a**hole Eric in Clearwater, to the tune of $380!!!

I did have a Superjet until I sold it 2 weeks ago. This Kawi always ran fine except for that little problem, which now has gotten out of control.

I did notice a lot of little black specks of matter in the carb throats today.
Would a fuel filter help? If so, which fuel line do I put it on, the one that goes to the front carb or the rear carb?
Any body a part # for this?

Sounds like your fuel lines are old and comming apart from the inside. NO fuel filter and everything will pass right into the carbs. I had the same prob with my Kawi and it was a bunch of crap that had clogged the petcock valve. I would change to res. and it would run good for about a minute and then die. Check the fuel lines and go from there.

strip down the carb further- if you have black crud the internal fuel filter will be clogged

Is your fuel selector clogged?
Kawi sxi pro's didn't have a fuel selector valve. They have this crappy cable system which turns the gas tank pick ups.
I'd pull the picks ups & check for crap in tank, then pull carbs apart.
Install a fuel filter whith the hose going to carb close to bulkhead of ski.
Good luck dude:beerchug:

If it springs to life with a pump, then you have fuel delivery issues. Just to clear my confusion, are you running fuel filters on your fuel lines?

Cape Coral FL,
It does come alive with a pump on the primer knob while riding.
No fuel filters on the lines.
I read on the GroupK site about carb tuning that air temp and humidity can make a good difference in performance.
I am in Muskegon and it has finally gotten warm this week!
The weird thing is that I ran it last week t was just fine and I haven't done anything to it since.

Well crap. I wish I was home so we could head down the road from my house to Bear Lake to fix it out.

I would pull the carbs apart, clean the needle&seat assembly, clean the filters, and add inline fuel filters to each line AND from the petcock to the carbs. (if you're running a petcock)

I am having the same prob sounds like. DOes it run fine on the trailer before it gets into the water?

It runs fine on the trailer AND in the water, usually..............until I gave it some throttle the other day!
So I just replaced all the fuel lines, installed 2 new fuel filters today and we'll see what happens tomorrow.
I didn't want to mess with the carbs just yet, as they have just been serviced by "tom 21" less than 15 hours of use ago.

do as scorn suggested, the carbs is not the issue although they may have picked up some water/debris now. drain the fuel tank and look for water and crap in the bottom of the bucket and remaining in the tank. just saw this 2 days ago on another ski that "was running fine" its always the simple things that get overlooked.

the first thing i would do is pull the carb and inside the carb there is a little fuel filter
do you know what styl carb you have
i would also clean the carb while you are checking for trash in the filter
what i have seen is that this new fuel we are getting now days isnt so good on our fuel lines
let me know if you find anything in there
also check your diaphrams for holes and worn places on the outter parts of the diaphrams
you can go to worldofpowersports.com and look at the parts break down on your carbs if you need help pulling them apart and going back together

one other thing you can do is while you are ridding and its cutting out pull the choke if you have a choke if not you will need to load the boat on to a trailer tie it down good then run it with the engine cover off and hold your hand half way over the carb to manualy choke it
also make shure the trailer is locked to the car/truck
this will make your motor run very rich and if your carbs and running lean doing this will be the tell tell sighn that its your carb
unless you have water in your fuel
water will cause your carbs you run lean because the jets in your carbs are to small to let the water pass through the jets
