Surfriding Keeping water out of BlackJack Carbs

44 brap jacks here.with tau ceti tornados.i got the milky white symptom too.but it doesnt effect my carbs at all.i think the thrust adapters is the best solution.very pricey, but allows the use of oem filters.gonna try em if i can ever get my sheetrock done on my house so i can concentrate on whats most important...TOYS!!

Bob, I had the same issues with the ProKs. I quickly discovered the Outerwears are worthless (dry or wet). I never had enough water in the bilge area to pump any out through the bilge pumps but, obvioulsy, there was enough in there to slosh around and eventually saturate the filters. The fix?........pantyhose over the ProKs. Once I went to this I have not had anymore issues with the ProKs - surf or flatwater. Looks ghetto but works great.

haha!! very logical. what brand pantyhose?!!

I use an outerwear on 48mm BJ with tall f/a. The O/W is sitting there not stretched and seems to work fine..ski is xfs with no bilges or anything (except oem scupper)

the thrust adapters fit great on my 46mm Blackjacks, didnt have a single sunk motor situation at Wavedaze; a first for me. Im sure that the fact that my steering cable broke and it kept me off the water for the large part of one of the days may have played a factor, but my freak seems to be way more dry inside now that I switched to the coldfusion hoodseal. Much better than the oem on my boat anyway.

Get rid of the outerwears and do what Matt_E says above..

All outerwears do is block needed air flow to begin with, then when they get wet they block off even more needed air.
Outerwears were designed to keep dust/debris out of your flame arrestor on dirt machines(MX,quads, etc). They are worthless in PWC's.

I put a set on some carbon proks for shts and giggles once on my dual Brap Jack 44's and the ski couldnt even rev correctly(out of water). They block so much air.

I just experienced the same exact thing. outerwears are junk! The pantyhose thing is interesting... Ive never thought of this but has anyone tried a similar setup to a pantyhose with dirtbike filter oil? (to resist water intrusion) Might sound dumb but its an idea and I imagine the pantyhose flows better than the outerwears

do they have that "tornado" look on them? like the center when looking down..
if so that is the issue.
The water gets into the top cone portion, then with the vibrations, jumps out, and directly flows down the side of the filter, into the filter, into the carb.
Same problem I had on my Tau Cetis. Turf the tops, or call up Mark at Rad Dudes and have him send you at some stickers that fit perfectly.

Thats not the problem. If you have water sitting in the "tornado dish" then you've already gotten water in your carbs. The water doesnt just get scooped into the tornados and avoid the filters to just wait for a vibration to shake it down into the carbs.

They won't work on any OEM Kawi carbs that I'm aware of. You'll need an aftermarket intake manifold that runs the standard Mikuni carbs.

they have a superfreak specific hoodseal, that has an extended lip of the material to better fit the way a freak hood sits and is sloped. not sure if they would work as well on a superjet.

Pick up an OEM seal then. Works great.
