Been browsing here for a while but have never posted so thought i would share my build up from last winter.....my intention was to build a cheap,reliable nice looking sea ski so to keep costs down i bought most of my bits used and refurbed them.....

Ski started out as an Ebay purchase last october (have owned an Ultra 150 since 2005)....a totally stock 2003 Superjet....

Rode the ski twice then into the garage to be stripped down...




First thing to do before repainting was an ATP through hull bilge...instructions were very good and only took about an hour to do with the correct drill bits i also cut out the hole for the ATP side exhaust.





I didn't fix it in at this stage to make it easier to paint....next step was to drop ski at a friends to start the repaint.....i had already decided to make the ski look my old Kenny Roberts RD350LC motorbike so ordered up some decals from Exotic Signs....

Now the ski was gone i could start on the engine....on stripping i found some pitting on one of the cylinder walls so as a precaution had it bored by Chris at ATP and fitted new Wiseco pistons also at this stage replaced crank seals and fitted Carbon Tech reeds.....

i managed to find a nice Protec Mach 1 pipe, head, Riva groovy plate, Worx 201 grate and a Factory Pipe waterbox of which i had them all blasted and powder coated black....

Next was to put the engine back together ready for reinstalling....



At this stage i also stripped and rebuilt carbs with a little help from a friend and rejetted them to suit my pipe....i ride in the sea a lot so kept the stock airbox to keep the water out

Next bit was the painting....a friend of mine was doing it and sent me update pics everyday....

first up was re gel coating the bottom...


then a bit of paint....



Then to the other bits...

Nikad58 used to have one similar, I came really close to buying it. No offense to Butch but yours looks like it is done even better!

next came my first mistake....should have done footholds before painting....oops..



didn't take too long thanks to the thorough instructions from Chris at ATP and a couple of phone calls

then here 'Kenny' is put together with new mats and finished.....



As you can see i had all the decals laquered over to a super smooth mirror finish and the yellow paint does have a sparkle to it......the total spec is as follows

the pics dont do the ski justice . some of the best paint work ive seen. its about 6 months old now and the paint is still like new. really nice looking ski

as for the trailer thats the normal trailer sj comes with over here when you buy new lol
