Surfriding Kevins Area 51 super surf hull TWEEKER X-TREME build ....... maybe

Question

As is the hull is only about 2 inches shorter .

Option 1 : I can shorten it and loose a little rocker

option 2 : I can build it up and keep roughly 14 inches

option 3 : bend it a little more just in the last 8 inches or so and keep the rocker and make it approx -4

QUESTION :

Would it be more beneficial to have a longer hull or shorter hull with the same rocker ? I realize a camel is a horse designed by a committee , but still want the boards input .

FYI : Taylor and I have split our partnership due to some unforeseen differences . You think you know someone , as it turns out he was NEVER a fan of Punky Brewster or Webster for that matter.

So you got us hooked on the build knowing you were down for 2 weeks GEEEZ. Anyway, hope the healing is quck for ya. I guess this was something to do in the interem for ya.

I like the idea and am curious to see what it brings. Toby is going to do something simular with an unassembled ROK I got in a few weeks ago. Add some rocker to the ROK and I think it will be even better.
Yours seems a little more radical.

I say leave it at about -4 or maybe -6 (majority taken out in fron of bulkhead) with that amount of rocker at front and rear you are litterally shortening the ride surface ALOT more than -4 or -6. Any more would give you a disk effect when a spoon is more of the objective I would think.

Nice work and hope it turns out well for ya.

Couple more pics

pic 1 : You can see I started the rocker a little further back than just snubbing the nose .

pic 2 : sticking it all together a little rough ( just need to keep it from shifting) . Filled the radius with thickened epoxy to add some material and strength.

pic 3 : checking my measurements tank and water box should fit with out modifications . When you raise the bottom you loose clearance . Pole mount area may take some effort to level out or may work on an angle not sure .

open for ideas

Nice work, glad to see this hull getting some attention (I think it spent over a year in my garage untouched... then to anonter member, etc...) Never guessed it would get hacked up like that though - WOW!!! BIG PROJECT!!! Awesome job on the rocker. Subscribing!

LOL, now he has amnesia about the whole thing. Pfft.....celebrities.

Did a little more tonight . It's hard keeping everything lined up properly , but I'm getting a feel for it .

Pic 1 : finished the nose contour

Pic 2 : Ve Have Vays of maken you talk ..... had to add a little more heat and pressure to close the gap . -4 off the front when the bond line is trimmed.

Pic 3 : Completed rocker contour . Came out to 15 " from the flat part of the hull to bond line. You can really see the difference side by side .

I'll start adding rocker to the rear tomorrow night . This is a real wild card . I have good confidence the front will ride well . The question is, do I risk it and do the rear ? ....... Well puddin .... this aint your Grandmas delta 88 build ! This is area 51 ! your in the jungle baby ! I'm going for it and it will NOT be conservative . ..... unless someone highly qualified says other wise .

I always thought Webster was Michael Jacksons idea of a pocket pu--y.

Good luck getting the top deck to fit. What are the plans for that?

O .... all that has been figured out . Simple ....... I plan on using Elven magic . Seriously, Maniac has this tool made for putting top decks on . It's actually called a topdeckputeronertool .
