Pilot holes yes, 3 layers no. i used a 1/8 first to see the thickness in case i needed to recess things from the inside. which i did need to do.

Use a step drill bit and you won't get cracking at all, especially for the bilge outlet

Mine was undamaged upon arrival, it does chip/damage very easily though. i did this by hand turning the pisser.

With Paint, you have to drill the hole loser. I did that on one of my paint jobs, I had filled my original holes and moved them. Drilled tight thinking I would "screw" it in. Did the same thing. Drill bigger, push in fitting, tighten from the rear. do not spin it.

I believe resin infused, but don't quote me on that.
I posted an engine bay screenshot and there is some footage of the bay in the unboxing video in this thread.
I'll be grabbing more pics when I visit the storage hopefully this weekend.
