anybody that believes that needs to stick with Stock. People need to do research.....
It is a starter kit. It comes with all the parts you need. Nothing about plug and play.

I had about 40hrs into my build once I got started. Does not include time ordering and researching parts that I still need. It also does not include all my trip time to and from Homer Depot. Now after 7 hrs of ride time I have to take a lot apart again to do a final fine tune and adjust. That's my fault because I am OCD like that. I enjoy the wrenching just no glassing, foaming, sanding or grinding.

Remember when build threads used to have pictures of people building jet skis

I just wanna play Jetskis and when I pay lots of money to play Jetskis and I don't get to play Jetskis then I complain on the internet

Not yet, been so busy/down after the surgery I haven't been able to touch it. Doesn't help it is stored 30 mins away from me. The CF tool and shims came in, I just need to work on it.

I honestly doubt it will change a whole lot, but I might be able to shift it around to be better. I've given up on having it perfect, that's likely not going to happen with this pump.

If no shims on the front it would be too high in the hole. Anyone else have front shims on their Krash pump?
yes i had to shim just one side on the front i am using a solas setup on my predator

Back over 6 months ago when I ordered the kit there wasn't much as far as reviews. I'm not a dumb fk, at least most of the time.
I found some positive reviews of how it rode and that suited my needs, figured it would get me on the water much sooner than buying a Rickter or Tigercraft. I just want to ride ya know?

In the end it is just a toy, I'm not going to get too worked up about it. I have too much other poop to deal with. Yes, shame on Krash for offering up some sub-par pieces and assembly. But there will be more people talking about the negatives than the positives. It's just how that works. Truth is there are a lots of Krashes out there ripping and being enjoyed by their owners.

Hopefully I don't run into more issues. But I wouldn't be surprised, poop happens. It is all part of the learning process, this is my first AM hull. And my first hull to build at all really. Looking forward to riding it and putting the BS behind me. Sitting on the internet arguing with other Interneters kills the vibe. It's about having fun, not pointing fingers and feeling bitter. The world has enough of that already.
you will not regret this ski at all it is a awsome ski as is my predator ,i am most likely getting a flatwater version or surf setup all depends on if i keep my predator or not! have fun with the build its realy not that big of a deal realy just all part of owning a AM SKI!

The part that gets under my skin isn't the fact that I have to work on the ski. It is that I was lied to and the some of the part quality is pretty bunk. Hull looks fantastic, just all the stuff that surrounds it is meh. On one hand I can get angry about being a guinea pig for new, not so great products. On the other I can learn from it, and I should have expected this because of the price. In motorsports you can't have reliability, power and cheap all together.

For a while I was defending Chris and Krash because I don't know the whole story. And I don't, both Nick and Chris have been helpful and replied quickly. That's not saying what they reply is necessarily good or bad, but they did attend to that. But that doesn't help the fact that I was lied to about the delivery date, things in assembly simple overlooked or not cared about and the shipping crate damage could have been avoided with proper security.

I want this build thread to be more factual than name calling, I don't know Chris or Nick personally so I can only go off of my experience with them online and in the sales process.

As I am stuck in an endless vortex of knee surgery, family gatherings, stuff for work and other hobbies that I haven't been able to progress much with my stage 2 50 Cal kit. In an attempt to get the thread back on track and let this be good documentation for future people interested in buying a Krash or a starter kit here are my pros and cons of the process thus far.

Pros:
- Chris was available to answer questions at all times of the day, PM and text. It was and still continues to be helpful
- Gorgeous hulls and fiberglass work looks to be nice and thick
- Bottom of the hull is straight and sexy, no wave to it
- Inexpensive compared to other AM builds. Really inexpensive. Stage 2 kit is $8500, equivalent AM hull, pump and pole would be $12k+
- A lot of work has already been done/assembled
- Comes with a lot of inserts and nick nacks that nickle and dime you in a bare hull build
- Pole feels stiff and tough, comes with OVP
- Waterbox looks tidy and from other reports - sounds awesome
- Did I mention freaking gorgeous!
- Custom color options

Cons:
- Lied to about delivery time. Chris said 2 months, maybe less. Ended up being almost 6 months from payment to my hands
- Assembly work is not high quality. Stuff is overlooked and installed incorrectly. Nick needs to let Chris do the customer service and get a proper assembly tech. They did offer to take back the pump and give me a new one or refund my money. That is still up in the air at the moment, waiting to see if the shimming fixes the issues.
-Impeller bent
-Pump installed incorrectly
-Impeller grinding on wear ring
- Shipping was awful. Probably go to the lowest bidder.
-Arrived with a lot of shipping damage, light foam packing around the hull with no straps. The crate was upside down at least once and that damaged the hull. Straps would have saved it
-Nicks in the graphics
-Large scratch/rub on the hood
-Rubbing on the back of the tray
-Scratch on the bottom of the hull at the rocker
-Holes in the chinpad (Krash is replacing)
- Pump assembly is not great. Have to take the whole pump apart to get it out of the hull and doesn't go back together the same. Shims on the front.
- All metal inserts and pump threads feel rough, not confidence inspiring. I have recently heard of multiple people easily stripping the Krash inserts.
- Trim is floppy when brand new
- Throttle and trim levers feel loose and have sharp edges. Not good on the other fingers.
- Scupper valve already stuck a bit open

This is what I can think of so far. If I feel up to it I might try to work on it on Thanksgiving. Not sure if I don't just want to drink and have a food coma though haha.

If you don't already have a metric tap set invest in one. It will come I handy now and down the road. Identify the size and thread pitch if the inserts that run rough and select the appropriate tap. Put a couple drops of cutting fluid on the tap and clean up all the threaded inserts. Your going to want to use a bottoming tap for that. You can always cut the end off a tapered tap and use it as a bottoming tap. I think it's fairly easy to get trash in the inserts when their building the hull and it isn't that uncommon

I chase every thread on a new hull before assembly, always find a few with crap in them, if you just run a bolt in, it can damage the threads.

All inserts on Krash are not actually inserts. There is a aluminum block or plate hiding behind every area that a bolt runs through. All of my pump holes are helicoiled

Anyone know what the popular thread sizes are on the 50 Cal? Looking at tap sets and wondering how detailed of a set I should buy.
Go to sears and just get a standard Metric Tap and Die set. You want both because the dies you can use to repair bolts and clean them when they get corroded. M4 - M6 - M8 are the 3 that you will use the most. M6 is your 10mm head bolts (where you use a 10mm socket) M8 is for your 12mm Sockets bolts.

Make sure you get a 1/8 npt also some kits will come with it. NPT (National pipe thread) is what most of your brass water fittings and such are. It's handy to have around for sure

Or just hop on the snap on truck and say I want all of it then your set to fix any conundrum

True. Unless your exhaust manifold os already tapped for dual cooling. Be sure to get T Handles for the taps that fit both small and large taps.

Big pump bolts (and B pipe manifold) should be M10x1.25, which is the less common, fine pitch. Most M10 hardware is M10x1.5
The M6x1.0 and M8x1.25 are all standard course pitch.
