There's how mine sat directly from the crate no ratchet strap. I'm putting my ratchet on tonight and am expecting the same issues as Chix seeing as our hulls were made at the exact same time. What size bolt did you use to hold the ratchet to the hood? Thing that bothers me about it is im using the Krash mounts and they seem to come loose after one ride even tho I tightened the piss out of them and used locktite which seems to be a waste of time on this ski.
Dude! How did you get the blue hood hooks, chinpad and foothold inserts? I wasn't even asked so I got a random lime chinpad, black hooks and orange foothold things. Dangit lol

I used a 1/4 20 since it was available in stainless at my Lowes. Your hood line looks similar to mine, maybe the had a poopty hood mold when they made ours? I would get non-Krash mounts...mine have been fine even running on one cylinder when I got water in the engine.

if you guys scrap the front hood pin will it sit lower in the front of the hood?
I don't think so. I sat on my hood with someone pressing on the front as well to get my hood pin latch to pop in/off. Just to see if that tight would not allow water in. It still got a poopload of water in and I'll assure you the hood was smashed into the front seal with two people's weight. Can't go any lower than that.

They came like that from mine thank god. Contact Dee on FB and she'll hook you up with the right stuff, that's what I've done in the past, I lost one of those blue foothold washers on the outside of the ski and she shipped me a few for like $10. I'm hoping I'll get the hood to seal properly with the ratchet strap and messing with the hood clips.

Hoping I just adjusted the hood hooks in the wrong direction.

Finally had a chance to read Chris's message. I pressed the crap out of the front of the hood into that hood seal, so far that I thought the latch might break. The back is also sealing with pressure so once again I assumed that was how it was supposed to be. Not a fan of adjusting the hood on a per-job basis, kinda seems like a copout and you can't deny the seal and the hood themselves are wavy.

But I was talking about testing the prongs before I read his PM so I might as well try. If it works then that is a positive thing, I'm cynical on the whole thing at the moment so I don't see how it will move that much. Please prove me wrong ski...

Here is the description FWIW if others are having these issues

I sent you a link where you could buy some Blue Stringer Washers!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cannot help you on the other colored items!!!!!!!!!!

I see what he is saying also.
Haha, I remember now. I gave up caring about spending money on different color ones and it went into the sea of messages. But yes you did and I might get them someday.

Lowered prongs as low as they could slide. Hood makes some serious creaking fiberglass sounds pushing it down. No resistance elsewhere other than the prongs being tighter in the back.

How it sits static in the prongs:

Tried two ways, one with pin and one without. Both with ratchet strap. Basically same gap.

Still giant gap in the center. Am I doing something wrong or is this ski/hood mold fkd?

How flat will it sit with no prongs or bolt installed and some weight on top ?
Great question. I weigh 150 and sat on it with no prongs and no hood pin latched. Same gap.

Sound like a broken record. Took prongs and hood pin completely off and ratcheted it down. Same big gap, you can see the inside hood seal valley lip. Touches in the 4 corners, but bows up in the center. Have video to illustrate the whole process, even climbing on the hood and sitting on it lol.

Or better yet take a picture of your hood seal if I remember it was pretty chunky. We know your hood is messed up for sure there's no doubt anymore

At this point you should just sell this and get one of those new Krash RTR models for $12k... :)
Or, start drinking!
I am already drinking.

And no, I will never be an early adopter of a Krash product ever again. The ski rides so amazing, but it makes me so sad that they traded cheapness of cost with hours of labor. Live and learn. This ski is almost there, but I would have rathered spent more and had less headaches.

Anyone interested in this ski? $11.5k as it sits, I have over $16k in it and can provide receipts.

Its had my ass on it while I fingered it if that helps...

I went back and looked at old pics in the thread and your hood sat almost the same as now.

Sometimes poop just ain't worth the trouble and you got to know when to change course. I think you have reached that point. I would pull everything out of the ski and see how much Krash will give you for it. You could try and sell it also and disclose what is going on. All this can be fixed but is going to require some time and effort. IMO You have been licoriceing around with all this BS for much to long now.

See my above post, we said basically the same thing at almost the same time.

I'm so pissed off and bummed at the same time.
