I feel like it shouldn't even be that far out the seal trench. My predator was nothing like that and had a totally different style seal.

Edit never mind I'm an idiot... hood seal stuck completely out of my predator trench lol the hood was totally different too

Minus the part where you had to use 2 completely different styles of motor mounts

Fingered it? You could put a whole fist in that gap.

Its had my ass on it while I fingered it if that helps...

Man if I had a dollar for every time I have heard this.....

Serious note, you better start trying something new if you want to ride this ski this summer. The hood or more is Fckd. That hood seal seems small to me but I also have liked the watcon because it has enough meat on it to mold around the hood and have a nice seal.

Rip the seal out and fix how the hood sits in the channel. There are far worse issues that people have faced with AM hulls. Yeah it should fit perfect from the manufacturer, but at some point you just gotta take care of the problem yourself for the sake of getting out there and riding.

That seal looks far to thin, compared to my reaper your seal is half the size. However even with a larger seal a good side impact will push water through. Best to fix properly.

I think you should try to redo the seal yourself before throwing the towel in.
Someone had an idea of throwing a huge bead around the entire thing and then putting the hood on and letting it cure to imprint the hood if I remember correctly. I would try that or at the very least putting one of those huge hydro turf seals like they use on the 550's lol.

Totally with you on this. Shut up and fix it if I want to ride right? Some of you, or a lot who knows, probably think I'm being a little bitch.

But hear me out.

My husband bought a ProForce from Pro Watercraft Racing some months ago. He was tenative after all the problems I've faced over the last year to jump into an AM hull project. The hull was under $9k so not a huge price difference.

He had the engine lined up on the engine mounts, pump installed and aligned in under an hour. Everything fits.

Fk me! It took me a week of vacation time to do that!

He isn't fking around making videos about bent impellers, griding out his brand new pump to fit, clearancing motor mounts, or fisting his hood.

AM hulls don't have to be poop and for that little extra coin there are lot less headaches. Time is money and that vacation I took off work alone cost me a lot.

The ski is legit for sale if someone is interested, the history is all here and I'm not hiding anything. The ski will be right somehow, but being as OCD as I am it will never be good in my head. The ProForce showed me that all this has been silly.

I'm done playing nice. I told Chris I'm pissed, I've reached the edge and now I have to figure out what I want to do. I doubt Krash will take it back, if they won't then a hood is the next place to start. That won't fix the problem in the short run though.

you are the reason
I can't stand reading crap like this thread. Just when you think krash has a good thing going/coming the truth gets revealed. You been through a lot on this hull allready. I didn't read your whole thread but I read enough. 1 bad review will skuash 50 positives. That ass & finger thing was funny although it was more than enough to know that don't fit. Good pic on the visual.
Hope krash will take care of you.

Hopefully they will start the process too send you a straight hood. If theyed allow while your waiting, I'd look at building up the low spot on the flange with glass and sand back to flat or sand both ends and sides of the hood lip to bring the ends down to the low spots. That center gap might be too big for this second version though as the hood shell may hit the hull before all the center gap is taken out

The understanding part of me wants like hell for Krash to do well, they get people into the sport and their hulls ride awesome.

The pissed off part wants to splatter the truth all over the web to warn people not to follow in my footsteps. I have gigabytes of videos and photos documenting the facts. I am a passionate person about this sport and this build has killed a lot of that fire. I'm not interested in doing that yet, to their credit Krash has been accommodating with most issues.

Chris hasn't replied, but I left my message pissed and open ended, he might be conferring with Nick too. I don't expect them to take the hull back, at least yet, it may be fine and it is just the hood that needs replacing. If the hood gets replaced and it still has issues then we'll move to the next step. I'm just in limbo right now, I'm willing to try and fix this hood in the mean time if I can get a good one on the way.

Why not just get the thing as close to sealed as possible and run your bilge all the time? You're riding lakes for now so it shouldn't take on too much water. I rode mine last fall while it wasn't sealed that well and didn't have any issues. Just ran the bilge the entire time

A number of reasons, most of all I don't want to halfass it. I want to whole ass.

I wanted to ride surf and I'm not about to take it there with any sort of leaking hood. The bad part is right by the carbs and for obvious reasons I'm not going to just - eh kinda seal it and hope for the best. Also, for some reason my bilge will not continuously pump water out. It acts like it loses prime and will only pump when switch off then on again once it loses prime. Need to figure that out, but pressing issues have been taking precedence.

put a u bend in the bilge hose like a toilet or a sink "p" trap. should be ok
