Fair enough, was kinda thinking the same. Dry fit everything, cut, adjust, drill what's needed then go for gold with the final build!

Any specific things to watch out for?

Cheers

Pretty sure it's just a bare hull so pump shoe alignment will be crucial, have a ally one ready to go.

As far as hood hooks go I haven't really thought that far, was thinking racket strap rather than OEM catch.

Take your time and measure a lot. There are a number of threads on here that will give advise and info.Read thru all of them.one thing l ran into the trim tube was installed right where the shoe goes.l just cut the shoe back in that area and it was fine.
You will need hood hooks for the rocket, but your're right it will be a while.

When I asked about the pump shoe someone posted this: "bolt the mid-shaft in and prep pump shoe and surface of hull apply a generous amount glue on pump shoe then install and squeegee pump entrance and wipe off excess glue install pump with drive shaft into mid-shaft with no pump rubber seal ring check pump is square with pump shoe and let dry.Do not screw pump shoe down. Nick Barton Quote "the threaded area of pump and midshaft are jigged and correct" the hull surface may not be.

I also had to grind the pump shoe to fit around the trim tube just like Sanoman.

If you use painters tape around the gluing area it keeps it nice and clean, just peel it off after you glue it.

I asked about the hood hooks because it's a bit tricky bolting them onto the front of the hood, ratchet strap would be much easier to run.

I didn't get the massage about not screwing the pump shoe in until after it was too late. I had to grind and fit the blowsion aluminum shoe for about 3 hours before it fit, plus cut a relief for the trim tube. I used 5200 and four screws and it fits the pump so well, I can't even fit a seal between the two. I might have just gotten lucky...

Hink do you run with a latch?l ran a brab strap and hood hooks.
The rocket will bob all day long upside down.l was blown away after finding that out.Flip it back over and hardly any water came out of the bilges! Nice job Nick!

I use a stock style hood latch. I have also hated the ratchet straps. My only complaint about the latch is that it busts my shin riding surf stance. I don't ride surf stance anymore...

I run the stock latch, no ratchet straps. I also got the message about not screwing in the pump shoe too late, but oh well. I used thickened G-Flex epoxy to glue mine in.

How do you guys like the footwells on these. I'm getting sick of constantly having to kick into the holds on my hurricane. They're super comfy but I come out after every flip. Do you kick into these? It looks like you just slip in and the back locks your heels in

I think most of us cut the heel thing off. My feet slide into mine. But I need to tighten them some. I do like them though.

l think it took just a few rides to feel comfortable in the krash holds. You put pad (10mil) for the top of the foot and then bring it around and on the outside of your ankle. The footholds are not in the traditional sense of "kicking in",more like turning your heels out and locking in that way. They are not made for you to stuff your foot into them.l feel like you have more control in the ass end with the holds.
l added another 10 mil and pad to my left hold ankle area.Added because my ankle kept on getting sore.
