Got the engine out of the waveblaster and freshing her up. The boyesen Rad Valve reeds where broken and cracked in multiple places (got them out of an old tricked out waveraider. So have a new set on the way. New silicone exhaust hose, RN waterbox, limited slip tank and rhaas engine mounts. Ignore the mess of straps on the tank. Working on figuring out what keeps her the most secure.

Between the tank and the waterbox it doesn't look like I am going to have enough room to run my tnt blaster chamber. So going to run an SJ bpipe until I get my lay down chamber.

Also drilled out my throttle cable adapter for the JM HD throttle cable.

Do you recall what size drill bit you used? I have to do the same to a ski I am working on and need to buy a new bit to do it.

Dad cut me out a brace with the plasma torch to help strengthen the steering. Need to work on getting the steering cable mounted to the hood and a steering stop. Also had to bend the seat mount so it would sit flush with the ski.

Playing with the hood some more and found that it doesn't sit even. The top right side of the hull does not match the lefts height. So the hood/seat combo does not line up perfect.. Luckily? the metal seat base has some flex at the welds so I am able to make it line up..

Used a vxr hood latch on the Reaper hood. Had to modify the hood intake area a bit for a perfect fit. Original plan to latch each side of hood wouldn't be possible without making spacers.

Next issue I have the steering cable 2006 SJ cable and with it maxed out, it only turns about 40% to the left and about 150%$ to the right. Not sure if this is because the solas pump or that i am using couch nozzle and x-metal trim? So need to get a 2" coupling nut.

A little bracketology. Aluminum or stainless, or fab it up in cardboard and hot glue and do it in CF or S glass. 4 hours tops. Rock it out.

Figured out the steering! Turned the steering stop upside down and bolted it to the bottom of the hood.

Steering stop. Had to double up and then tripled up to compensate for the spring moving the steering shaft up and down.

Swapped out the original stop bolt for a 1/2 stainless and an extra wide 7/8 nut.

have the stop setup to land on the flat side of the nut in each direction.

Adjustable steering cable holder I fabbed up. Will get some pics of it mounted later.

First time doing flat water on a Reaper.

Pros: You can throw it around like an a/m stand up and being a fix steer you don't get tired as quickly. Compared to the blaster it is much easier to slide out and recover after tricks or spins and keep going. Side mounting is much easier and quicker compared to the blaster. As I get more time on it flat water I will post more. I will try and get some video too.

Cons: Squeezing the seat with your thighs gets painful pretty quickly. (Reason why everyone runs pool noodles on the seats)
A lot of drag so top speed is not great. I would guess I am probably topping out in the mid/low 40's. *After dialing in the carbs she hauls ass. With the same setup in my blaster I was hitting high 40s/low 50's. Pain in the arse to build. :)

Ski looks good. Just wanted to mention that is not a VXR hood latch, maybe you meant WR3?

Thank you and thank you for your help with my parts! I am sure you know more about the latches then anyone else. I am just going on what the ebay ad said.

Ebay has so many incorrect listings for Yamaha parts it is crazy. 62t parts listed as 61x and vice versa all the time.
