Theadjack....lol. Matt how has the FBOMB held up with jetski abuse? Did you ever do a review thread on it?

I decided to pick up a new suit before Daytona and for the spring. I have my choice narrowed down to either a XCEL Drylock or Ripcurl Flashbomb (new ver of the FBOMB). I think for jetsking the XCEL will be warmer, as its more insulated when you are out of water. I also think I can get away with a 3/2 if I get the XCEL, as opposed to a 4/3 with the FBOMB. I am impressed you are taking a 4/3 in water in the 30's and 40s....but I have become a huge wuss and I know that wouldnt work for me. I have 2 older XCEL suits that wore like iron, still decent for 7 season on them. But even though I sound like my mind is made up, I have it in the back of my mind to get a 4/3 Flash bomb as they are soooo Fing strechy. I'm just worried that the rapid drying "feature" of the RIPCURL will dry the suit out too fast while riding out of the water. I currently ride with a tour coat when its cold and I'd like to stop doing that cuz its annoying.

I discovered dirtbikes are alot more fun then riding in ice water. So I dont need the suit for water colder then 50F, prob 50-65F water temps, and 40-70F air temps.

XCEL or Ripcurl....3/2 or 4/3...the $400 questions.

i went with a oneil assault surface drysuit. its a neopreme suit. already tried it out in freezing water and worked perfect.

Good move. I had a few neoporene drysuits like that, they work great when its really cold. Plus if you break down, you actually have a change out in artic water temps with the drysuit.

I don't remember if I did a review. :(

I've been using it for three years now. Well, about seven months out of the year anyways. It's held up great. The knees are starting to get a little "loose" like suits used for jetskiing usually do.
I have a couple of small surface tears that have been entirely my fault. They have not gotten bigger though and don't bother me. One of them has been there for almost three years now without getting worse.
Great suit.

Matt thanks!! How about days where its not so cold? Not to familiar with NW water/air temps, but on the days where water is in the 50's and air is not so bad, how is the suit without a tour coat?

At this point I am 99% going to be hunting down a 4/3 FBOMB tomorrow.

In the real cold weather/water I use a tour coat.
Without a coat, I will use it comfortably up to 55-60 water temps and up to 70 air temps no problem

Thank again dude, thats what I wanted to hear. Amazon had ONE 2012 model medium/tall chest zip 4/3 left, so I just snagged it up. Will be here thurs. Stoked to have a warm suit if we get any cold days in Daytona.
