Ha, I am hauling my stuff all the way out there to ride the west coast and you are wishing you could ride here. Ironic.
It is pretty nice to be able to ride some surf in fresh water. This time of the year is the only time we see pretty consistant waves though. Summer waves are rare.

Thanks for posting that! I was so stoked for Derek. He has been a pro level rider/racer since I met him in '97 and he just got bit by the freeride bug. The kid is motivated and we all feed off of it! He was riding the red and blue 827. Truzski was carving it up on the orange and blue 1000. Tipafew as always humble but I saw him stickafew as well. The winds were straight west which makes for bumpy water. Southwest is ideal but northwest is generally bigger. I drive 3 hours around the pond to hit this spot and I live 18 minutes from the western shore. I have a spot here in IL, but I still prefer to ride with my bways. Great to see other hardcores out there!
Oh and Cuong, I got the hookup whenever you want to travel! Just think, Freshwater!

Well, here are the forecasting sites. I wouldn't plan on making the trip unless at least someone is predicting waves. Looks like Monday might be fun, but other than that the forecast looks pretty bleak right now.

We headed out early last minute because the NOAA forecast had it dieing down by the time we normally go. Were you one of the guys we stopped to talk to on the south side of pigeon lake on our way in? I feel like I remember seeing the ski in your avatar and an octane.
The conditions were great, up there with the best I've ridden all season. You could basically pick your wave size up to around 10' depending on how far out you went. The water is getting really cold though which just adds to how punishing it is out there.
Is this maybe a baby backflip? I went way bigger on my next attempt which resulted in (another) hood cracking pancake. I guess it is about that time of year again already...

Yeah, it was nice to finally meet you as well. I have been seeing Holland on your location line for a while and thinking we need to ride together. I am on the east side right across the black river from what used to be the country club.
