Lake Michigan open water ride (Grand Haven)

would anyone be interested in getting a bunch of people together in grand haven near the channel and all riding down the channel together out into the open water for a free ride session in the waves? we could all park our skis on the beach and get some sick ski line photos of like 20-30 skis. Grand haven was just an idea but if anyone knows any big lake launches with some big beaches so we could get some people interested in the sport I would love to know!

I'm down, I will finally have my skis here with me this summer. Gotta X2 and a Superjet and hopefully a blaster by the May or June. I thought you couldn't beach skis at GH?

I've never tried to so I don't know if we can beach them. Maybe if we made some really rough 2x4 racks and set them by the surf and set our skis on those, I wonder if they would have a problem with it. Otherwise maybe we could talk to the DNR or whomever is in charge and see if we could get a pass or something. Maybe we just find a different beach haha but I like the channel idea of like 30 stand ups going down the pier to open water.

I went on a trip to Grand Haven for coast guard with my ex-gfs family. Her brother and friend brought there 750sx and 650sx on the trip. We had a beach cart, parked right in the parking lot on the off the pier and rolled both skis through the crowd and just ripped it from there...no one gave us any grief.

Last time I was out at coast guard week I saw some kids on a OEM 96-97 RN...I really wanted to jump off the pier and take it for a rip haha.

We also rode in Muskegon with no problems. The cops actually stopped us to talk skis.

That's awesome!!!! Oh then this would be awesome to do. I've got a 550 js OEM but it's still a blast:) yeah if we can just roll them down the beach that would be awesome

I have ride a few times at GH and its fun with all the boat traffic. For the most part GH police are straight up dicks. But I have had no problem riding yet. Do any of you ride port Sheldon? There is a large group of us that rip on Sunday fun day

I ride port sheldon every sunday and we always have a good group of riders! smaller inland lake to mess around in and short channel to get to the big lake. always a good time!

My brother and I ride in South Haven several weekends a year. I'd like to try another place because the channel is long and the authorities hassle us a lot. Maybe we'll take a ride up to PS this year.
