I drew one myself and its close , i was plannig on making them but i dont have the budget to tool up for it so its not going to happen
I know how much work goes into it and i can appreciate it

Thanks, it was a ton of work.

I think it would cost upwards of 30K to be able to product a casting. That doesn't include the manufacturing equip to machine it after the casting is finished. I see that you already have that, or you have access to machines.

So do you guys do any small simple CNC machining? I have an idea or two for a few parts and would like some stuff made.

Also is there any plan to make a cylinder and not run a sleeve but rather plate the cylinder? Or is it easier to sleeve the cylinder and be able to readily bore the cylinder? just seems to me that there is an awful lot of work to make that cylinder to put a sleeve in it.

PS any plans to make a Kawie powervalve cylinder?

I would think that machining down behind the transfers would be impossible on a cnc cylinder if you didnt have sleeve type setup

Let me answer this when I get home.

Nicasil cylinders do make more power, but the turnaround is extensive, sometimes as much as two weeks, if you stick a piston and damage the plating, the same thing has to happen, strip and replate, two more weeks.

With an iron sleeve, you can rebore bigger, or drop it out and install a new one. Much faster.

Due to the transfers, it is much easier to add a steel sleeve, especially in billet.

Cast cylinders it could be done much easier, but the cores would be much more complex. But then we are dealing with the cast cylinder problems again.

There are couple of companies making aluminum sleeves that install similarly to cast iron sleeves and then are plated. They work very well, but they typically gall when installed and are tough to remove if needed. Nicasil is nice, but I'd agree that for what we're doing probably not worth the hassle.

The nice thing about the factory nikasil is that some of the larger companies such as Millenium Technologies have replated cylinders ready to ship.Turnaround time on that is one day if you care to pay the shipping.
