So if you bought a new car and it had issues you would just write it off as all new cars have a few issues?
Comparing aftermarket hulls to the automobile industry? Interesting. If you repainted your car would the manufacturer of the car warranty the paint or warranty it against corrosion?

Chris is working with the 2nd owner. I think that deserves at least a moment to let them try and work something out.

Yes about the car. My civic had a recall on the bad paint from the factory and if you had it repainted on your own dime they reimbursed you. If you buy something new from the factory it should be in great shape. Of course buying used leaves you open.

Edit: My statement was a general statement about making excuses for a/m hulls vs anything else. Not meant to be specific to krash or anyone else. 3 sides to every story and I have only read one of them.

Just give them a chance to work something out. Krash is not Honda. And there is no recall because this is not a widespread issue.

Just saying.. I didn't have to modify/fix anything on my rip.. Alignment was spot on, no shims needed, everything fit perfectly.

We're certainly are aspiring to have this type of build quality, but as we all know, even Yamaha Superjets use shims for their product and they are mass produced by an enormous manufacturer with 100x the amount of oversight. Yamaha has been creating PWC's for nearly 30 years, thus having tailored factories for production and I'm sure they endured issues during their production infancy. I certainly agree the customer should have to as little personal modification as possible to a brand new hull, and we certainly are aiming for that goal, but we need to be fair as prospective buyers that even the largest of manufacturers require slight adjustments for maximum efficiency. Imagine the growth and caliber of product Aftermarket companies could achieve even 1-3 years from now. We at Krash are doing everything we can to work towards a goal of an amazing riding product coupled with top build quality. Oh yeah and I'll be doing my best to cover the customer service end ;)

As far as Austin, (Yami-rider) I have personally worked with him on the matter to have it resolved.

All that over a nasty little drip. Key to any relationship is compromise. Getter done and move on. Sounds like Chris is gonna resolve this. ️ edit: I'm sure the original poster will advise us of positive results.

We also have to take into account some people are using a myriad of parts from this and that, some new, some used Oem, some used AM, some new AM.

I have seen differences in pump shims due to simply changing a reduction nozzle on the same ski.

When we look at shimming and alignment we must look at the whole picture, all of components together create a system of stacked tolerances. I have seen bent mounting ears on reduction nozzles, I have seen pumps assembled with no dowel pins and when the pump bolts were torqued on the bench the sections were not perfectly aligned and it caused a shim issue.

All that being said, I am currently assembling a Reaper and I needed ZERO shims anywhere. The pump, midshaft housing and engine are all perfectly aligned with new OEM mounts.

My personal pred needed what I would consider minimal shims.

I saw a pic of a revolver a couple months ago and that thing had what looked like a 1/2 inch of shims on the engine mounts.

All that being said, nothing is ever going to be perfect. We are riding 2 stroke skis that require will over there life require a ton of maintenance and care. I have put well over 150 hours on my predator over the last 15 months and I have had minimal issues. Most issues I have had were due to me simply beating the ski to death, nosing it into the bottom, repeatedly pancaking on the same side while learning rolls.

I know my opinion is biased because I own a Krash hull, I am friends with Chris and Nick, but I put hours on my ski and will have no issue pulling the trigger on my next Krash hull

Found out the issue ran down the side wall. Luckily i have only found soft glass in the top deck.

Man its a good thing you know how to do glass work! If this had happened to me I would have to send it off and lose money, sell it and lose money or just throw it in the dumpster..and lose money.

Kudos and I see why people document their work,it pays off in the end.

Chris got me sorted out. Woundnt be afraid to buy another krash hull.

I should have my 8HS s-2 mat fiberglass in next week along with all my vacuum bag supplies. @SkiWorks Composites has been a huge help. Can't thank him enough. Will be my first time to vacuum bag.

Sadly I found more issues. But I have enough glass coming to fix it.

Curious to hear how they sorted it out? Looks like you are still in for a tun of work. What's your time worth? Now you have a hull that's not worth poop after you repair it.

Ya, there is more issues then I had originally thought, but I am happy with what we agreed on, thats all that matters.

And on hull value. It will be better then it was when it left the factory. So I dont think it'll hurt value to much, plus I don't plan on selling it anytime soon.

Just have to look at the up sides, I learned about glass I never knew existed and how to vacuum bag.

If I was a hull builder and I had a hull that had major issues like this,I would buy it back and get it off the market. If it is truly 1 of 100 then it certainly make since for it not to exist. Especially if it had my name on it.
Now this hull will always be "that one" . Makes me re think buying a new/ used hull.

Have to agree with the above....but, Shouldn't Krash be footing the bill to get this repaired professionally?

Krash stepped up and worked a deal with Yami-rider that he is happy with, end of story.

Everyone is very quick to jump in and bash and criticize. But this hull was clearly out of Krash warranty and they still stepped up and made it right and made the customer happy.

Maybe Yami-rider wasn't comfortable taking it somewhere and wanted to do repair himself.

I think people are looking for some more detail as this will help potential buyers of Krash products gauge the effort put in by manufacturer. "Stepping up" is a loose buzzword term.
