Freestyle Lee stone and why he couldn't wow the world again

I'm pretty sure Eric can build a ski to perform well enough to win a world title. Eric of all people will know if the ski is up to the performance level of a world champion's ski. Sounds to me like Lee didnt plan his world finals practice time very well

I have to agree with Tom in terms of Eric's ability to put together a good setup. How about the fact that Ivan (who from videos I thought should have won) and a couple other guys were all running the new EME 1200. As for Lee's decision not to ride I wasnt there so I cannot comment. I do know that Eric puts 100% of himself into his company and his products. I am a paying customer that will tell you he is hands down the best person I have worked with thus far. Therefore I have a difficult time believing that the product wasnt capable of winning again. I watched him working into the late hours last year and thats why I went and bought another hull and built another motor with him.

Its a bad deal for both parties. Obviously I cannot discount either one of their abilities. It does seem that Lee ultimately had the final word and that was not to ride. Unfortunately Eric didnt have a choice at that point. Hopefully Eric and Lee find a way to put the band back together.

On that note....I'm buying an eme 1200.

Lee should of been here MUCH sooner than Wed. night if he was concerned about his new ride and the World finals..IMO
The Japanese show a month before the WF and most other competitors 2 weeks before.
Maybe Lee heard about the Japanese practicing at Body beach before sunset on Saturday. Their boats were dialed in within a micron and they were riding like there was no tomorrow. The video below is a clip I picked at random to upload while I was there. They did a lot more than what that shows. I lost count of the number of moves in one the combos at around 7. It's a small taste of what they were up to. For about an hour they were pulling out all the stops. There was 3 of them taking turns and sometimes riding together but the energy was incredible.

I need to do some editing to show what they were up to. I even have a song picked out - the live version of Godzilla by Blue Oyster cult. Enough power to match the action.

Shameless plug of another of my vids... :smile:

Many reasons, why they didn't go for double ups, so here is a couple;
1st - double-up not counted in score and there is always posibilty of a tie and ski run-off (I kind of thought Kasu and Ivan tied and was looking forward to the run off).
2nd - The wakes were average at best. wrong type of boats used, water ski boats make the best wakes..

Potanin Ivan wasn't running an eme ,he was riding a force hull and yes his run seemed more entertaining and had more tricks but all the same ones where as Sakiada had a larger variety of tricks and more technical

Nice vids !! Does anyone have Ivan's HUGE wake launch ??
Because you asked nice I put it up :smile: Ivan got one of the few decent wakes. The boats did such a weak job I didn't bother putting the v-wakes up this year. It was kind of amusing to watch I think it was Parr giving hand signals to the boats trying to get them to produce something useful.

You weren't kidding when you told me about the world finals wake a couple months ago.
I get better wake from the local wakeboard boat double ups.
