Who needs heel locks anyway...

Jk, I know they work good and make everyone feel secure.

As far as the tether, I'm on the fence about it. I think it's dumb to limit the pro class, like mike b said, if anything it should be the amateur class they change up. But I also think it looks dumb using a tether. The trick isn't that impressive when you are tethered and the time it takes to hook and unhook hurts the flow bad!

Talk about hard tricks! The super flip bars are where it's at! That takes skills, strength, and balls! Plus they are plenty safe and open the door for more tricks than a tether.

I don't run heel locks, but I also don't mind them!

I'm a Foothold addict...my freaking footholds lock me into my ski which for me makes me perform better.

One time I looked like the biggest rookie, had my feet locked in, was idling into shore, put my pole down to pull my shorts up and fell backwards. Feet stuck in the holds and just get drug to shore hahaha...good times!

My dad always said " you gotta be one with your ski" "it has to be a part of you"

When I don't have to worry about flying out of my holds I perform waaaaay better.
Out of all my years with footholds the most dangerous times are when I came out.

The tether is a different story. I've seen people who can hardly ride huck no handed flips "with a tether" but can't do a 1 handed flip without it....that says it all.
You wanna do a hard trick like a flatwater no handed flip you gotta practice practice practice. Not just strap yourself in to make it appear like you've learned how to do it lol

My footholds...I can't even get 4 fingers in there but after a hard kick it just sucks my foot up into it....I love it!

DUDE!!! That carbon piece is sick. I was thinking about a foot strap to hold the holds from kicking into the tray when getting locked in, that is awesome though.

I am a sucker like you though about having to have feet locked in to perform well. If you are not feeling it mentally you won't do it physically. And that is just me at a beginner level. You guys at the top pushing limits I don't know how you would do it without solid footholds keeping you locked in.

For sure most dangerous time is being apart from your ski, not being locked in!

Glad a high level rider spoke out about this. Hopefully you guys push against the whiners about this issue.

You gotta be comfortable on your ski in order to push yourself like you said!

Unfortunately if it's true about the heal locks, my guess is it's coming from Frazier and more than likely can't be talked out of. People will find other ways to lock in.

Mine focus more on pushing in just where the curve is on the inside of your foot. Works awesome!

I rode and more importantly saw @SmittySX doing massive flatwater 360's and backflips (the first time I have ever been with someone doing massive flatwater stuff) and I can't even imagine trying to squeeze the throttle on one of these 900+cc 155+ pumped beasts....without heel locks!!!
