Other Left Side Turn/Lean Problem

need a bit of advice if anybody has ever had this happen to them. i have an 865 with some 48 novis a power factor and a flame ignition. ski runs perfect all day long makes really good power too. but when i turn my bars to the left it feels like the ski sort of bogs down. now it only does it to the left no matter how slow or fast i am going. we were thinking needle and seat leaking replaced them both and still doing the same thing. any pointers or even were to start looking.

Don t have to be leaning right over as soon as you crank the bars left its boggs and splatter and straight up its fine turn right its fine.

What type of hull and which way is the steering nozzle facing when this happens?

Junebug was having a similar issue with his XFR this summer and they ended up adding a slight extension to his exhaust outlet to stop it. Not sure how much was ever mentioned here on the boards but if it sounds similar then more info can be dug up.

Not that I have experience here but make sure your cable isnt being bent or pulled, see if its mechanically moving the butterflys on the trailer with the hood off.

I had the same issue last year that got worse. I had two bad motor mounts, when I put the motor in my new hull with new motor mounts is was still going on. I changed the base gasket under the carbs and the problem is gone away. The gasket under the front carb was the part that was torn a little. Have you had the carbs on and off a bunch ???

I'm having the same problem with my ski now. It's a 865 with dual 46's. It does it when I do power 360s or bulldogs to the left. Anything to the right is fine

I had that problem with my blaster... And for me it was the linkage between carbs was loose. No idea why it slipped only when I went left but it did. Doubt its your problem but throwing it out there.

You can understand our problem exactly its like it floods with fuel and you need to clear it out but does nt.

XFS nozzle is facing left

very interesting but my nozzle is facing the opposite way to the exhaust

I will be testing some exhaust tip mods on the xfr to also see what can be done to help the problem.

Have to look into this

nozzle is facing away from the exhaust will look into it we ride we with another 3 XFS/R no issue like this.

Checked all ok

When you stand on the ski; which direction are the diaphrams facing? (I assume they are downdraft?)
Are the jet blocks facing inside towads the cylinder head?

Correct that s the way the carbs are installed I am thinking of spinning them the other way to see if the issue happens to the right i know thats not a fix try to see if things change.

FLAME works like a dream.

The ski was built and riden with a stator and enhancer worked fine for a few rides then the left turn issue started only install my FLMAE back in this weekend ski was doing the same with or with out the FLAME .

was being sarcastic... everything is normally blamed on the ATP ignition....

C'mon X-h20! Like Performance1 said, take the hood off on your stand and turn the motor on. Turn the bars left and right. See if the throttle cable is pulling when you turn left.

He just mentioned he checked that already.

I have had some similar issues with my FS 46MM carbs before, but only on stabs BR etc. If your pop off is too low this could be an issue also. My carbs face the same direction yours do. When I roll I land on the right sometimes which causes the n/s to pop open and flood the motor. I thought I was taking water into the carbs the first time it happened. Whats your pop off at?

Dont discount the other comments about the steering nozzle elther. Even if the nozzle is pointed the other way, spray could come out the side and go into exhaust. Check everything, and duct tape is your friend checking the nozzle issue :) Plus correct me if im wrong but doesnt the nozzle point right when you turn left? Thats pointing towards the exh.

try a lower pitch prop, call me crazy but it fixed mine. it just makes the ski turn more rpm's down low in the left turn and blows the exhaust out better.
