Freestyle legging dasa 950.

Ok so here is my dilema. I'm running a dasa 950 8mm stroker, 48mm blackjacks, 148mm mag pump, epic ignition(I have not changed the curve yet), limited B-pipe, lightweight fly wheel, and a bunch of other little goodies. All my equipment was new when I purchased it.

Here is my problem I find my setup very legging on the bottom end. Mid hits good. I have a 13/17 pitched impeller. I have rode my buddies 5mm 888 and it hits 3 times harder then mine. Art jetted my carbs for my setup. Why is my ski lacking on the bottom end?

My setup is a 8mil 950 DASA on first bore so 945cc
DASA intake with v-force 3 reeds
Oem 46 mikuni sbn's
Tbm flywheel
Msd enhancer
Mod chamber b-pipe w stock rn waterbox
All going to a setback 148 mag with a 11/17 thinblade impeller and it's got plenty of bottom. I'll be swapping to blackjacks, msd total loss, and a pfp this winter.

Ok. What I did notice with the mag pump was my flip attempts where a little higher but it didn't hit any harder. I'm running the boyeson intake and reeds btw. I have full intentions on switching to a total loss this winter. Do you think that's my problem then? What pitch would you recommend for an impeller with my epic?

What lightweight flywheel are you running? Have you confirmed the timing is correct with that flywheel?
Chris.

True rider, what is your buddys setup? and what prop is he running?
Does the prop pitch need to be lower when going w bigger pump? because im running a 13/18 144 mag in a SS 850 w all the goodies. And i think it hits pretty hard.
When you guys say bottom, do you mean from idle or were in the RPM area ?

He's talking about my Gen3, It has a Jetworks 888 in it http://www.jetworksperformance.com/?p=436

Here are the specs for the Gen3
Jetworks 61x/62t 5mm based motor 888cc
Dasa intake with VF2's
46mm blackjacks
B-pipe
MSD total loss
Solas 144 mag pump

I cant remember the pitch of the impeller, but it was custom pitched by Jetworks for the motor

Prop down 12/17 (ive talked to guys that have been below that pitch)and hell yes throw that TL on there. Those props will run out quick but who cares about going 30 mph.

im just running a lighten stock flywheel. my nozzle i believe i bored to 95mm. i can double check. i might have an extra msd laying around i can swap out. alsomy epic curve has not been changed from its original state. this weekend i will move the curve to the recommendations from epic. if that doesnt work i could try a different pilot jet as well. i am running dual cooling and a flo-control valve too. and when i say bottom end i mean basically just a little above idle. When i punch it to flip the ski has a little power till mid hits. i hope this answers most of your questions. thank you to all of you for your help keep the suggestions coming

XJC could you find out the prop pitch ? Allso maybe the ignition settings to compare with truerider?
I think that if you dont know what prop and timing curve both setup is running, i would be hard to compare. As timing and prop can change the feeling of the ski/engine alot (and again i think there is a big diffrence from the Epic to the TL)

Would a 148mm mag pump, need a smaller pitch prop, than a 144mm mag pump on the same engine? Or should the prop pitch be the same, if you are moving to a bigger mag pump?
