Dayum I have been missing out on this thread lmao some good stuff here Guy's and Gal's Thank's I don't want to tell ya what I did the other night lol !!! Oh Ok when doing a complete rebuild don't forget to put the damm bedplates on a friggin Yamaha.

If tailstands are important then install an elbow in front of the bulkhead, you wont even need to cut the hose.

its not that 'tailstands' are important.

whats important is being able to get out of the hole on a deep back landing WITHOUT CAVITATING. running only the stock SJ exhaust tube does NOT allow this to happen.

I've never had any problems personally.

Tailstands work fine with stock rear exhaust...especially if you're turning left while in the tailstand which looks cooler anyway.
