Google maps doesn't show the mile markers. I am assuming they are on Port Aransas Beach Road, right? If That starts just south of Beach Access Road 1-A then it goes south 2 miles to just past the RV Park Port A on Google maps/Earth, right?

Beach House rentals shows up as a little red bed in that area but I can't confirm a house on Google Earth:

I think we'll keep it simple and stay in a hotel and just meet you guys on the beach. Island Dunes Condos is right on Beach Access Road 1A so that would be a short commute to water.

The markers start around the pier I believe. 25 is right at Gulf access road 1. Sand Dollar City is very close by the riding spot at marker 16. The house they have rented is around marker 1 or right next to the pier. The numbers go up as you head southwest down the beach. You should room up with the guys that are getting that house. That will save you/them money and keep it simple. I'm trying to convince them to change to sand dollar city but we'll see. Ither way, they'll figure it out in a day or so.

LMAO. :laugh2: Funny guys. But seriously, we know where to stay. We know where to ride. Sub maned up and got a place before I had the info. So, since I'm a slow poke; It's all screwy now. Sorry! IMO the Sandollar place is good. Its very close to where we can ride and right next to the condo and Camping area. The other house is fine too. It will just take a few minutes for everyone to drive down from there. Y'all get with subseawellhead and convince him to tell those guys they lied and to give him his deposit back so you can rent Sand Dollar out. Otherwise, Just stay at that place and we'll meet up in the morning art beach camp. Ether way, let's geterdone quick before it really confuses people.

The house subseawellhead has arranged is fine with me - it's closer to town...meaning the grocery store, gas stations and restaurants.

If I remember right, the only thing is a small convenient store at 1-A and they may have had gas - pretty much everything else is in town or on the way towards it.

it would only take 10 minutes to drive from the ride spot to the rent house...if that.

Yea, that's about it. One gas station with gas/beer. So let's make sure that's what Sub is still doing. Then we can make it all official. It would also be nice to see who's camping and who's not.

Anyway, I got my turf and foot strap ordered yesterday. I'll start tearing the old cat scratched crap off and getting ready for LSFR soon. I can't wait!

Thanks. It's being resurrected yet again. I am doing a piss poor job of balancing time between it and my Rickter and actual customer cars that I should be working on. So far the Rickter is winning, haha.

600whp is just too brutal for the street plus it requires $$$ race gas and too many driveability sacrifices. I am rebuilding it with a "mild" 450whp pump gas setup that still idles reasonably well and has A/C.

OK everyone looking for a place to stay contact subseawellhead.

He has a good house on the beach with lots of room. Others have booked with him already. If it fills up, there is another place near the riding point.

Camping will be between markers 27-29 if you want to camp on the beach with the group.

Everyone going to the beach will need a parking permit. They are $11 at most stores in port A. These are good for parking and camping for the entire year of 2010.

IMPORTANT: Riding/beach launching must be done south of the beach access Road 1 which is right next to the camp area at marker 27. I am still looking into the legality of riding/launching right next to the jetty like we did last fall. This may be legal. If the surf is flat, we may want to head there for some massive boat wakes.

Ferry boat users!!! US coast guard regulations for fuel containers: Cannot carry more than 12 gallons of fuel FULL OR EMPTY. Also, no cans larger than 6 gallons and they must have the oem cap. You will be sent all the way around after waiting a looooong time. I suggest hiding an empty can or just buy water cans if you need tons of fuel.There are plenty of gas stations nearby too.Call ahead to 361-749-2850 for ferry info and wait time. If you come on a busy Friday, it may be faster just to drive around anyway.
