Light weight hull manufacturers

Yes, it would be great to have a new post that would basically describe each AM companies with prices, type of construction, years of experience, options and feedbacks from owners themselves, not friends of companies with bias opinions.
So... if you are a manufacturer, or own one of these hulls, please leave us some feedback on the product. I'm sure there are many of us that would love to read a quick review on the likes and dislikes from people that actually ride them.

With that being said, here is what i have found:

Is anyone else confused at why the Waterdawg Rev is $3000, and the Envy is $4500. Is it just because the SXR bottom handle's that much better then Jeff's own design? Not trying to slam, just seems weird to me.

probably because he was trying to get his own design out on the market...The f1-pro is 3800 and it uses less material than both so who knows!?! :dunno:

To the OP:

Here is my take on the REV hull. It has characteristics of both the SJ and the SXR. The back end is very loose and easy to flick/slash in the face of a wave
however, it does not like to slide into a wave as a whole (picture sliding into second vs. a quick slash at the peak)

it can be SXRish in the fact that it can be ridden HARD and will corner like its on rails

the harder you ride this hull the better it handles

pros: uses SAE hardware that is availible at ACE/Lowes
allows for multiple engine options (701/800/1100/1200) direct bolt in
unique hull design with integrated front sponsons similar to the 08 SJ
wider engine bay for easier maintenance
inexpensive

cons: customer service can vary, sometimes GREAT..others you are left wondering
chop glass hulls arent as strong as vacuum, but still is stronger and lighter than stock
your boat will probalby not arrive on the date promised, but you will be thrilled with it when you do receive it
doesnt handle like a superjet, if thats what you are looking for

F1-pro--still under construction

pro's: an fx1 with an integrated 144mm intake system= THE BEST! :headbang:

I've seen most of these hulls in person in Daytona over the years.

My dream hull is 06 XFT which is SXR bottom and SJ top so this sounds good.

I have ordered from WDK 3 times and zero issues. I'm confident Roo would have eventually gotten his complete build package. I'm just gettin a hull.

Homework is done. Build picks coming.......someday. It could be a month or 2 or even 3 till I actually make it happen.

I accept having to mod my riding style a little if need be to have a 70lb hull.

I totally agree BK....I did have the chance to ride butti's boat (WDK superjet rip..in fact the ONLY one ever sold) that has the REV bottom..

granted, it was in fixed steering format...close enough

I had some doubts about its handling at first, so did John....but all it took was 1-2 days in nice surf and it clicked. It will however make you feel a bit like a noob again :silly:

Korns SXR makes me feel like a noob.

So I will be able to carve like I do on Korns SXR? I CAN NOT get that pump to disconnect until my cheeks are draggin!

not sure...never weighed it

it will carve similar to an sxr, maybe not quite as hard......but I know if I rip it a little too hard into a wave, the boat will hook so hard that it will compress my whole body right into the tray

hence my user title

WDK X-jet Owner

Pros: Very innovative design. In my mind it is the ultimate superjet based hull. Fixed many problems associated with the superjet: virtually indistructable handlepole mounting area, lower than a superjet for better rotation, and small nose peice is eliminated. The customer can have a number of different bottom decks and other options availabe. Hull is custom taylored to what you would like.

Cons: 2 peice hull design is not the best way to go IMO. Nice in theroy but compromises hull integrity in spots. The flatwater bottom deck I had was very slippery and would slide out easily. I prefer the SJ bottom deck for a more positive feel.

I am having the x-jet replaced b/c there were some things that WDK did not do to the hull that I specifically requested. We had this discussion the 2nd day I had the hull in my posession and we worked it out. My X-jet was the 1/2 prepreg version and the price was about what a new ENVY hull would cost. I knew about the envy before it was produced and waited for that hull to come out so we could swap out the x-jet with that hull design.

I still think that the x-jet is the ultimate superjet! I might even plan on building a back up boat using a sj, bottom deck and x-jet top. I liked it that much! Simple, clean and just all around a better freestyle ski :usa2:

Those noses are sick!

I assume he will make full carbon upon request, right?

I am not even going through this if a I can't get a very tough hull/hood/handle pole/foam/holds under 100lbs. Like a lot under if possible.
