I have had the opportunity to ride a good friends XFT on several occasions this year and I am really impressed by it. You can make subtle changes and totally change the hull characteristics. I am assuming it is the most expensive set up available, but as already stated-U GET WHAY U PAY FOR !!! I also got to ride Tricky's wammer and I loved it as well, but, going by nothing more than looks/weight, the XFT appears to be un destructable. Keep in mind I know NOTHING about hull construction! I am really anxious to ride Steve's new hull and WILL ride one before I buy anything.

Ummm... stores have tools like that.

they do...but when it came time for it I didnt have the tool on hand...Sears is an hour away, but I had the parts to make exactly what I needed...

besides...I dont even use any of my SAE sockets/allens so i figured why not cut them up!?!

plus, I made a couple with a special length that worked a bit better for me..specifically an allen socket for the gas tank bolts, and a wobbler for the motor mounts...

Just so you can compare....

I have an all glass vac bagged XFT hull with carbon re-enforcement. Bare with nose piece, pole bracket, mini fuel tank/batt holder and twin scuppers - 40kgs

XFT carbon hood - 6kgs

I haen't ridden it yet, but it looks really strong. I thought I had better than averge glassing skills, but it turns out I'm just a hack. Sergio's work is NICE...

I looked at a lot of different hulls, but I wanted something cheap and strong. XFT have so many options that I was able to get one that I could afford and add a few other bits and pieces with the remaining money.

I couldn't bring myself to buy a carbon hull this time around, as I didn't want to break something so expensive while I'm not landing consistently from rolls etc...

Anyway, just thought I'd add that!

none of the weights are going to be exact..

they are going to depend on how the customer wants it built.....and even then you are only going to get an estimate

I think most of the builders don't really know how much it will weigh until it comes out of the mold.

XFT, Trinity, Lightweight DE, and Compositech will all be within a pound or two of the published weights. My hull was dead on the money. These guys use very specific layup schedules and all products are bagged so resin quantities are very repeatable. There will be minimal variances.

I can say I know what everyone of the parts weigh before they come out within 1 or 2 lbs on the hull. Further I have been within 2-3 lbs of the number figured on paper for every new laminate schedule before the first one was ever built, then weighed. The numbers are kept for a reference just for knowledge along with a build schedule, step by step pics of the material lay down and many notes. This compulsive disorder comes from the love I have for this stuff, it is a very interesting trade. The skies the limit of what someones mind can do with the materials that are available today.
