take 0.4 lbs or so, any more and they are reported to become un reliable.

It needs to be re-balanced too.

its a cheap mod to have done at LPW, just send it off and have it done.

.6 huh?

maybe my memory is wrong ( highly possible)

Paul started a thread years ago, about some flywheels cracking after a couple of years if too much was removed.

I think that was on the other board though.

thanks for the info....whats LPW charging for this service? i got a free lathe to use at a machine shop, but i'd prefer it done correctly and balanced.

Sorry i find this search engine sucks and takes too much time to find anything.

So i'll ask another question...can total loss be achieved with a superjet stock flywheel? what all is involved? No i'm not currently interested in aftermarket aluminum total loss...etc. (since that will be someones first suggestion)

Yes, absolutely, and it will be 150% pointless.

You'll have none of the TL benefits and all of the hassle.

Dunno. :dunno:

It spins it, measures the side loading on the rotating table and indicates where the imbalance is.
