An inflatable what? I have kicked around using tire tubes...but theres no way to know if its inflated unless you check it all the time. Access to the rear section means I have to remove my non removable seat....not something you want to do often. The X2's rear chamber is an awkward size/shape, you maybe able to get 2-3 tubes in there, but they couldnt be that big and there will still be BIG air voids. I think the extruded polystyrene foam will hold up pretty good to water, fill voids pretty damn good, and best of all its CHEAP AS ******** to replace if I notice the skis weight increasing.

Hey Shawn, I don't feel too bad loosing your sxr prop to Craiger, (motorhead5), I was just looking for a spare or one for him anyway. Didn't know he was going to snipe me.......:no:lol Bunch of good guys up north.

Well the tube idea is a definite for my next RN hull. Plus you can check to see if it has air in it with a tire gauge........hence the valve stem.

What type of tube specifically are you looking at. I have not wrote the idea off.... but I have not seen anything that will fill the voids sufficiently and not leave air pockets. I was thinking of using a tire tube to keep pressure on the DOW foam so it doesnt shift around.

How are you getting the foam in there?

Theres a carbon fiber access door under the foam seat. Its a VERY nice feature! I love being able to get back there. Only downside is that my foam seat is glued down...so thats a little annoying. But I have a HUGE roll of HT 25mm that I have been using as seat material. I could mod a stock seat to fit, but the underpad weighs ALOT less than seat w/brackets.

I have only looked at a few because i don't plan on building my next hull till the winter but, i was going to look into dirt bike tubes. I had also thought about maybe having a specific size rubber cylinder shape tube made??. Im still juggling what i want to do next...i have a few ideas up my sleeve.

you could use tubes cut and then tie a knot in each end with a some super glue or some other sealer in the knot to seal it off . that way you can lay them into any area alot easer. just check the pressure each time you ride . get a tube and try it you would be quite surprised how well it holds air in there still with just knotting the end

Been rippin it up. I LOVE the boat. I have 3 other 750 X2's.....I have not ridden ANY of them since I got this one going. The powerband on the yammy motor is just so much more usable. The 800 kawis I have, you have to rev the ******** out of to get really nice power. This thing just jumps out of the water with any touch of the throttle. So torquey!! The ski could use some finishing details (proper bilge install, better hood alignment, a new ride plate (lost mine in the surf last weekend), but I ride too much to have the downtime. (Thats what Nov-April is for) Right now I am just paying off some bills, to get ready for a new motor. If everything goes right, my goal is to putting a 4,5 or 6mil stroker in this hull before Daytona. I rode my friends Team Scream 4mil, and I cannot IMAGINE that power in this hull. I might actually enjoy riding flatwater!

And I have the only one.

Oh and I bought an FX-1 recently. Hopefully I will have that running for next weekend. Just needed new top end.

WE HAVE FOAM!

Just an update:
I rode 3 tanks through my lightweight today. (and 2 yesterday!!) I notice the ski seemed a little lazier then normal, but only slightly. I looked over the motor carefully and didnt see ANYTHING that looked abnormal. So for the hell of it, I pulled the plugs. During that, I felt the jacket of the plug wire all the way to where it hits the EBOX (remember its a yamaha). There were 2 nice cuts/wear marks in the wire jacket. I put some dielectric grease on the break, and taped them up with elec tape. Then heatshrinked over the repairs. SKI HAS NEVER RIDDEN LIKE IT DOES NOW!!! Easily 15% more power, than when it was running right! Must have been arching to the motor or something. So I'm going to steal the EBOX out of my FX1, and send this one out for new plug wires.

I also found out I had a pretty bad leak in the rear section of the ski, where my trim cable goes through the hull. This was leaking probably 5ish gallons of water into the hull over a day of riding. Weighing it down significantly. I have drain plugs in the rear section, so it wasnt a big deal. But annoying as F! Turns out all it was...was the rubber boot that covers the thru hull fitting to seal around the trim cable, had popped off. No big deal cuz I am using the DOW foam method, so it was easy to access and remediate. This foam cant get wet! Its Sooooooo great. Now shes dry in the rear section and ripping harder than ever. I love this foam, I even put some in the nose section to help support the waterbox. AND ITS SOOOOO CHEAP!

On a side note, I have come to the relization that I have to get rid of one X2. I dont need 4...LOL! I might build one setup for bouys. So there a chance there will be a bunch of cool parts for sale soon.

hey shawn... do you still have, and use, that humpback seat that you got from me a couple years back?

Charlie, I am staring at it now. Its sitting 2' from my computer desk....LOL I have 2 of those seats, my GF uses them with the pontoons, so the splashback isnt that bad when you are sitting up higher.
